30 days.  I don't get it though.  The only thing I don't have is a generator.  I have tons of food, blankets, water, wood, blah blah blah....  I could make it forever.
All the great things are simple, and many can be expressed in a single word: freedom, justice, honor, duty, mercy, hope.

Did you enter the right amount of food? I was missing a few things, so I think it must be the food quantities which make the difference.

I have already spent 10 days for real stuck in this place and I'm certain that going longer wouldn't have been to much of an issue. Its just a matter of how much longer.

We could add a week or so onto that if we eat our kids. :-)

"When you see that trading is done, not by consent, but by compulsion - when you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing - when you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors - when you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don't protect you against them, but protect them against you - when you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice - you may know that your society is doomed."

I think it's largely determined by the amount of non-perishable food in the house and number of occupants.

I have circa 200 lbs of "non-perishable" food at any one time (I rotate stuff through the stockpile) , have everything on the list except the leather furniture and the antibiotics, and there's only one person living here. I also have well in of 100lbs of frozen dead animals in my freezers.

Leaves me a result of 493 days.

They forget the most important factor of all though.

Toilet Paper.

I only have a month of so supply of THAT stuff, and once it runs out : I'm making a run for the store  :-)

Well don't forget to count family members as a food source because Ted Turner said we'll eat each other. :-)

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

Oh, should have posted my results, though I just went by what my family back in Atlanta has.

We could survive about 130 days.

You should check out if LCEFA or asdf need a roommate or lodger. Otherwise you will be the first CC casualty of the impending catastrophe :-)

This little questionaire leaves out a very important item.  How much potable water do you have in gallons.  Or does it assume that an unending water supply is a given?

The municipal water treatment system is supposed to magically stay online.   :whatever:

'The Stand' has a pretty good treatment of a TEOTWAWKI scenario.  I especially love the chapter on "naturally occuring" deaths.

Exactly my point.  I guess the same goes for electricity for those that have 100s of pound of food in the freezer.

For those with generators on hand...  How many gallons of gas to you have stored for it?
