Yep, I've heard that story several times.  I've had the pleasure of meeting him too at a radio broadcast similar to the one where he made these remarks.

I was listening to the radio broadcast in question live when he made the remarks.  It's my afternoon show that I regularly listen too.  I'm almost surprised it has taken this long to make national news.  His remarks were pretty scathing but excellent.

Have the DUmmies and/or Olberdork started an on-line petition to get him removed from the GEICO ads yet?

We saw him at the NRA national convention in Houston a few years ago.  Didn't actually get to meet him because I didn't want to stand in line but we stood a few feet from him and listened to him talking to those who were coming up for autographs.  He was a riot!

I can't believe that any of the DUmmies didn't know that he was a conservative.  It always seemed pretty obvious to me.  I know quite a few Marines IRL and they're all very conservative.  I guess you have to hit DUmmies over the head sometimes though. :hammer:

Wait a minute...did Towlie honest-to-God think that R. Lee Ermy was a bleeding heart liberal?  I've seen Towlie before, and he is stunningly stupid.  Keeping an eye on him perhaps.

There goes Ermey's invite to the Towlie's Lunar New Year's fireside drum-circle.  :(

Doesn't someone around here often say that DUmmies lie all the time?  :-)

My thoughts exactly.

You're talking about Roe Conn and Richard Roeper's show on WLS!!!!!

Yeah, I listen to Roe and Roeper online from time to time, and I know Roe has a major league bromance going with R. Lee, and has for some time now.  :-)

You got it.  Roeper is a relatively new addition.  I think he started last March or April.  He's turned out to be an excellent partner to Roe.

You nailed it on the bromance with R. Lee.  :lmao:

Oh of course!!!!

Their sign-off each night at 4:00 (well, 6:00 Chicago time) is "Good night, ladies!! Hit it, sweetheart."

I've been an online listener since '93, I think, when it was still Roe Conn and Garry Meier.

Jim Johnson and the Carnable Wagon however, reign supreme!!!

Yeah, I've been listening since the late 90's, which was not long after I moved there.

I played in the 2003 Roe & Garry golf outing, and our group won the entire event.

Got to meet Roe, Garry & Jim, received some very cool prizes.  Christina wasn't on the team yet, or it was one of the times where she had been fired.

I even had a brown mumbler on New Years Eve in Pasadena last week.  :-)

Doesn't that freakin figure?!?!?!? I was in Chicago last week, and you were out in my neck of the woods. Gotta say it was a real kick listening to the show, complete with the local news, traffic and commericals. They usually broadcast dead air or some stupid music loop to those of us online listeners.

Glad you had a great time in Pasadena, and that your Frogs kicked some serious ass!!!  :cheersmate: :cheersmate: :cheersmate:

Just curious... what is he wearing?

I suppose someone from Wikipedia has already combed through it.

Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal with two bronze Service Stars
National Defense Service Medal
Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal

It's kind of unique to the Midwest and the radio show I was referring to:

It's the Silver Star, not the Bronze Star.  And I can't tell what that last one on the bottom (opposite the RVN service campaingn medal) is either.

So I don't have to look it up, what's the difference between the two?

I just went over and looked at that thread.  It's interesting.  Remember when the guy who did the lizard's voice called and left some drunk message slamming (someone on the right but I can't remember who and don't want to search for it right now)?  If I remember right he was ultimately fired over the voice message.

The DUmp was ECSTATIC that happened and condemned GEICO for firing him.

Interesting how things turn out .... isn't it.

Silver Star is for comspicuous gallantry in action.
Bronze Star is also for acts of heroism.

It all depends on what one did, and can be subjective. To be honest I don't know the difference. It depends on what the Brass feels was more important.
