The roads around Memphis are pretty damn awful.  I have to wonder what they've been spending their annual infrastructure budget on if not infrastructure?

Regulations and regulation zealotry is what is driving business out of liberal state like here in kalifornia. The business community sees quite clearly that obama want to make the entire USA kalifornia on steroids.

The real short answer is to have Obama out of the White House. Until then working capital is stampeding out of our country.  The stock market may go up but nobody in their right mind would open a business that makes things in kalifornia and now the entire USA. No state is safe for business now. Look at what the Obama regime is dong to Texas, Arizona, Louisiana, and many other red states.

NOWHERE IS SAFE FOR BUSINESS IN THE USA.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Remove all Muzzy socialists from government positions and while we're at it reduce the size of the government by, oh say 40% as a start.

We wouldn't even notice the diff at 40%! Hell, at 60, we prolly would only feel a bump in the road! Except for the fact the whiners would be givin' us hell 24/7!

Industry runs best on cheap oil....drill baby drill.

The meer mention of drilling off shore caused oil prices to drop to half price when Bush was in office.

Cut taxes across the board by 10%, reduce the corporate tax to no more than 10%, and capital gains to 5%. Abolish about 90% of all regs as Tanks says, although in the EPA's case you have to abolish the entire agency as well as the regs; drill for oil everywhere we can; mine for coal nearly everywhere we can; give giant tax breaks to electricity suppliers who build nuclear power plants

Man, what a hardline Freeper!  Hard to believe you're a New Yorker.

Speaking of infrastructure, I was reminded of what Joe Biden said lo these many months ago, when the godawful porkulus bill had passed.  Someone in an audience asked him, "My friend has a small business.  How will this bill help her?"  Joe replied, "Well, if your friend has a business that needs a bridge or a road so that customers can get to her, this could possibly help her."

As if someone would build a business on say, a desert island and not think of implications of public accessibility.  Oh, the dumb, it hurts.

I just finished a book by LTG (R) Russel Honore--the one of "You are stuck on stupid" fame.  It's called Survival  How Being Prepared Can Keep You And Your Family Safe and it's a recounting of the Katrina golf-foxtrot and how he became the face of the recovery effort.  He says something along these lines:  Ignorance is correctable; stupid is not.  Biden is stupid.

What pisses me off is your ignorance. Or is it stupidity?

Stupidity.

Ignorance is treatable.

Liberals are like Slinkys.  Basically useless, but they do bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs...

I left out eliminating the AMT, granting tax incentives to build refineries, and, as a long-term project to make our mid-school and high school systems competitive in the world again, eliminating the Department of Education and driving the NEA out of our schools, and granting people the option of taking a large, calculated percentage of their property taxes to use as vouchers for private schooling.

Am I really hard line Karin? Sad day, isn't it, when common sense is "hard line" How terrible that we should not cripple our own energy industry! How very "winger" of me!  :cheersmate:

I have trouble believing I live in NY too, myself. Arkham Asylum, is more like it.

Biden actually said that?--no, wait, why am I even surprised? It's Biden. But even someone on the hard left who doesn't have Tourette syndrome could never explain how building all these roads and bridges is really going to have any long-term, positive effect on the economy. They say "infrastructure" like a magical incantation, but if asked to explain how this does any good, either they bury us in stupid, a la Biden, or, more likely, obscure the issue with meaningless word salad.

Libs attribute the building of the interstate system back in the late 50's and into the 60's for the booming economy back then. I guess America's cutting edge technology in the world had nothin' to do with it! Ya know, like TV broadcasting, satellites that could support a billion telephone calls, etc, etc.
