I don't mind helping those that DESERVE help, but   Updated at 3:37 PM

The mantra spewed by those with jobs, and intact stuff, invariably refer to the updated welfare queen. Those that have a TV, or internet, are assumed to be living too high on the hog. They must be deprived until they are taught proper poverty. And those that want control over who is destitute enough, largely desire to determine that thru churchy submission. If you still insist on having your own conceptions of God, gays and guns, you must be carefully taught that you aren't allowed an opinion, unless you are the updated landowner.

There have been many calls from the right, that if you accept one stick of Government help, you should not get to vote, drink a beer, or God forbid, protest. The calvinist persecution is upon us. This defense mechanism, is the salve that makes those with their stuff intact feel safer, and provides the excuse to heap scorn on any that poverty affects.

According to believe and receive theology, if you were doing what God supports, God would support YOU. That misery has befallen you, is proof that you deserve to suffer. Those preaching this also think you should go to your premature deathbed without bitterness. Sure they think private charity should be available. But you havent drank the koolaid. And so, without the need or expense of a rack, or cat-o-nine tails, they envision an inquisition every bit as harsh as the last one. It seems to be loosely modeled on 1984, where in the end, you embrace the philosophy of your tormentor.

Should we fail to see the seriousness of their plans and schemes, I have no doubt that starvation and easily treatable suffering are to be institutionalized. Should the inquisitors find their way back into political power, I have no doubt that they will severely punish any that might speak out, up to the Pnac threat, to nuke anyone that doesn't go along with the program, or pogrom.

How do the church freaks justify personally sending many to supposed hell? Some are destined to be vessels of dishonor, like a piss pot. And who are we to complain, God created us to contain the excrement of the chosen. Think I'm joking? I have debated many of them. They think they are doing the work of the lord. Only one thing stands in their way. That damn hippy guy Jesus needs a long overdue makeover. And those historically upstart daggermen Jews must become silent sufferers too. Give me liberty or give me death, unless you are undeserving, in the eyes of the pharisee. Then, the only thing you are allowed to ask for is, thank you sir, may I have another. and not in a good way.

1. Yeah, there's nothing worse than a smug asshole who enjoys judging.

I'd like to know, who the hell appointed them judge and jury?

Church freaks are almost always disgustingly selfish, stupid, mean, and greedy. In other words, the exact opposite of the deity they supposedly worship.

Heck that sounds more like the average DUmmy than most "church freaks".
The most selfish people on the planet is the DUmmy. The DUmmy thinks that he or she is owed just for existing. If you suggest that they work for a living they bitch about being a slave. A DUmmy will crawl on their hands and knees for ten miles to receive govt benefits, yet refuse to cross the street to get a job.
There is more dignity in working a job "beneath" you than there is in sitting with hands held open waiting to be filled.

recipients shouldn't be allowed to buy soda water or chips or whatever food choice they (the authoritarian right winger troll) personally disagree with . . .

these are sorry times filled with tons of sorry ass people.

Well DUmmy when you bust your ass for a living and buy hamburger instead of steak and you watch someone buying expensive cuts of meat and lobster tail with an EBT card it tends to piss us off.
Then again by buying cheap cuts of meat I am not going hungry 3 days after pay day either.

they got govt. surplus butter and cheese and owned VCRs. At the time, a VCR cost about $30 (not $400, like when Stossel probably first bought his), less if you bought one from Goodwill after the former owner had upgraded to DVD.

Another common right-wing remark is that our poor would be considered "rich" in the Third World. Well, yeah, they would be, if they could pay Third World consumer prices while receiving American minimum wage.

Another favorite is that the poor aren't really poor if you count the value of their food stamps and Medicaid. :wtf:

My response to such right-wingers is to tell them to quit their jobs and go on welfare (heh-heh, they wouldn't be eligible, because they have too many assets) if it's such a cushy life. That's when they start ranting incoherently.

Spend just one week in a third world country, you will come back to the USA realizing just how much of a paradise it is here compared to other places.

I can say that I've never been to a third world nation, nor do I have any interest in going to a third world nation. Ever.
But, I can guarantee you this DUmmie. I can bet the poor in America are WAY better off than the poor in the third world nations.

The year I spent in Korea was enough to make me appreciate the life we have here. The poor people there are dirt poor. The poor people here have cell phones and big screen TVs.

The Stossel Report also stated a high %age of people considered "poor" owned their own homes, the majority owned at least 1 car, had a microwave, cable tv and air conditioning.

Many of the so-called poor have a better standard of living than the hard working minimum wage taxpayer who is helping to subsidize their "poverty".

Over the years, I've been required to visit many different countries. In my opinion, outside of Canada, they're all third world. (Never been to Australia or New Zealand - they seem to be very civilized and decent.) Every one, including those "enlightened" European dung heaps. Some are just less appalling than others. Many Americans simply cannot conceive of how fortunate they are to be citizens of this country. Many times, when I've just cleared customs, the agent has said, "Welcome home", and I've wanted to hug the guy.

Stossel on that show did a comparison of American poverty versus true poverty in the world.

Thats a fact. I fall into that catagorie. I keep my head above water by burning wood for heat, gardening, hunting and raising chickens and rabbits for food. Then when I get a chance to work 20-30 hrs over time they tax the shit out of me! I have people in my family who are on disability and welfare because they have a drug addiction!!!! They sit on their ass all day smoking crack and have newer cars, bigger TVs and iphones. I have a 2000 ranger and a 32" TV and no cell phone! Not saying I want what they got I just wish when I work so much overtime I would get to keep what I earn!
"Liberalism is an essentially feminine, submissive world view. Perhaps a better adjective than feminine is infantile. It is the world view of men who do not have the moral toughness, the spiritual strength to stand up and do single combat with life, who cannot adjust to the reality that the world is not a huge, pink-and-blue, padded nursery in which the lions lie down with the lambs and everyone lives happily ever after."

And as is typical, the primitives frame the viewpoint from an improper prespective.

People used to have a high enough standard of themselves that to accept charity would only be a last resort.  Now, way too many go there first.  Of course when you have a group of lazy progressive types trying to tell people that those who do achieve got it because they cheated and lied and did it on the backs of the average person (and in essance stole it from them), then it's an easy leap to to demand the gov't makes sure their private property is taken from them (via taxation) in order to support those from whom they stole it.  Primitives view this as strengthening society, but the battle between those who work hard and achieve and the great unwashed has always been here and always will be.  The primitives, once again, are fighting a battle that human nature itself will eventually break into pieces, and they'll continue to lose.

There are many people out there, who are getting unemployment and/or food stamps, that have lost their jobs, are out looking for jobs and sending out resumes. Once they find a job, get back on their feet, they don't collect anymore. I consider those people to be "short term" recipients, who have no intention of collecting any longer than absolutely necessary. These are also the people who are going to try to make every dime they get go as far as possible, and they arrn't going to be buying "frills" with the money. I think they should receive help.

My issue is with the generational welfare recipients and those who find a way to scam the system and make it work for them.

There is no reason for welfare to continue from generation to generation, yet it does. It does because one generation teaches the next, and the next, and the government does not care!

If people are going to collect welfare, then they need to be held accountable.

Weekly drug testing should be mandatory. While it might cost the government money, long term it will save the government money. If one is on welfare, they should not be spending any money on drugs....if they are, then they have more money than they need and there's no reason to be giving them money.

Show proof that they go on job searches. Mandatory 3 per week. Employers who offer a job to someone, and the individual doesn't show up for work or turns the employer down, should report the individual to the unemployment office.

These young unmarried girls that are popping out babies every year and collecting on each one? Only get paid for 2. Birth control and tubals should be free. No government subsidized abortions.

I have no problem with a food stamp recipient getting a bag or two of chips, or pack of cookies, or even a thing of pop. I do have a problem with them buying cigarettes, beer, and lots of junk food. The cards need to be preloaded, based on a nutritional diet, for x number loaves of bread, x number boxes of pasta, cans of soup, vegetables, fruit, etc.

I'm damn tired of being told by the government what I can eat because there are a bunch of seriously obese people walking around. I bet if you randomly grabbed 50 people not on welfare, and 50 that are on welfare, that there would be more with obesity issues on welfare than not on welfare.

If the government stopped making welfare such a cushy situation for the recipients, there would be a lot less collecting it.

I'm not even going to start on those that get SSI for their ADHD kids, it will only get me really pissed!   :censored:

I'm damn tired of being told by the government what I can eat because there are a bunch of seriously obese people walking around. I bet if you randomly grabbed 50 people not on welfare, and 50 that are on welfare, that there would be more with obesity issues on welfare than not on welfare.

If the government stopped making welfare such a cushy situation for the recipients, there would be a lot less collecting it.

I'm not even going to start on those that get SSI for their ADHD kids, it will only get me really pissed!   :censored:

Begk, a question here.  Why does everyone put it on the woman to prevent pregnancy.    Men can get sniped in such a way as to have it reversed if they wish.    Woman can seldom reverse the process---

Uh, how 'bout a woman can just close her legs, or does that not count? I've never had a piece of paradise without bein' told that I was welcome to it! Since I do not have to go thru the hell of pregnancy and childbirth, I have always let my spouse or my girlfriends before her, decide when and how!

Women hold the keys to the car, doncha know! Just ask 'em! How many men do you know  apply for welfare?

ETA:

Oh, and H5 Deb! Since we all have to be drug tested nowadays for almost any job in the private sector, why shouldn't those livin' off the gubmint teat, ie our taxes, also be subjected to the same!

I wrote it Vesta, not BEG or Begk.

I believe it IS the woman's responsibility to not get pregnant. And I also believe that it is a unmarried woman's choice whether or not to notify the father, and whether or not to keep the child.

Sorry, guys, but unless you guys are going to step up and marry the pregnant mom, and remain committed to the child for the rest of your life, then you shouldn't be given a voice in the decisions. If a guy has sex with a woman he's not committed to(married or in a firmly committed relationship), then he needs to wear a condom --- NO MATTER WHAT THE WOMAN TELLS HIM REGARDING HER BIRTH CONTROL USAGE. Women are liars....just as men are.

As to whether or not it's the woman's responsibility? It is if she wants to make sure she doesn't get pregnant!  It's real easy....don't want to get pregnant? Then there are several options that work. Don't have sex or get into a physical position with a guy where the little swimmers find their way to the egg. Be on a proven effective method of birth control and still use a condom. Get a tubal ligation. All three of those options work to prevent pregnancy and all are within a woman's control with consensual sex.
Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

Save the Earth... it's the only planet with chocolate.

"My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what I start. So far I've finished two bags of M&M's and a chocolate cake. I feel better already." – Dave Barry

A balanced diet is chocolate in both hands.

says food stamps are her only livelihood as she waits to qualify
for Social Security disability. "It takes a while," says Paez,
who has been receiving the food aid for four years.

I had a rant all typed up but deleted it all. The pic screams for itself.

I know you didn't ask me the question but as a woman I'd like to answer, since I'm the 1 that would be carrying the child I feel it's my responsibility to make sure we take precautions, and that includes making sure the guy is wearing a condom. We have a bunch of dumb weak women out there, what the heck was the women's movement supposed to be about? it sure as heck hasn't taught the past 2 generations of women a darn thing except for telling women if you don't take responsibility then there's a quick solution of abortion. Women need to start using their head and not get to the point where an abortion should even be considered.
