Of course they're not.  Why should they start now?

whose do you blame for decline of detroit? Remember, you don't have to put the blame on one person/community/entity.

52. I blame neo-con economics, unregulated capitalism. I blame those who

oppose single payer health care because health costs are one reason businesses have gone elsewhere. I blame the Military Industrial Complex for sucking up trillions of tax dollars that should have been spent on schools and infrastructure. I blame Wall Street, banksters and corporations whose only responsibilty is to their shareholders. I blame the racism which started the white middleclass exodus from Detroit in the 50s.

Seriously? you don't blame Democrats? you blame the white middle class? :bs:

And you're too stupid to spell. FAIL!
It's not the auto worker's fault. It's the unions fault for sure. I would throw the liberals in there a well as they have a mental disorder and screw up America as much as they can. Hippies just have no clue, smoke their bongs and go around hugging trees. :-) :cheersmate:

Damn this puts it all in perspective. If a conservative haven like Detroit looks this bad then maybe conservatism isn't as good as we think.

What's that? The libs rule in Detroit?
Ohh that's right and the citizens bravely stand in line waiting for Obama to peal bills off his massive stash and hand them out like candy on Halloween.

I'd love for that DUmmy to try to explain what he means by "neo-con economics", only to twist himself into knots and end up a sputtering puddle on the floor.

Memo to DUmmies:  Detroit is merely a symptom of the greater disease called liberalism.  Would you like some other examples?

I was looking for a documentary that was posted on youtube called "Requiem for Detroit" I found it but it's been removed due to copyright.  :argh:

Anyway, it was a GREAT commentary on what happened. DUmmies should have been forced to watch it.

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

Those photos always make me sad.

I was pretty much a street urchin there in the '60s.  Ran all over the town.  Loved the old churches and was in all the major ones (they used to leave the doors unlocked during the day for anyone who wanted to go in and pray).  Went into all the big hotels and theaters, and as long as I was unobstrusive no one complained.  Spent hours in the wonderful libraries all over town, and got in the newspaper for having read every horse book in the whole system.  Some librarians gave me a scarf as an award.

Practically lived on Belle Isle in the summers, if I didn't find a way out to the country.  One of my favorite "naughty" things to do was to tag along with a tour of the Wonder Bread factory and get a tiny loaf of warm bread.  Then go over to the Vernor's Ginger Ale plant where a worker would give me a free little cup of the stuff.  Climb up to the top of a building and enjoy the view.  Ambrosia!  It was a fun place to grow up.

I guess I blame it's demise loosely on greed and sloth.

What's being said about Detroit is the same thing that can be said about Chicago, Philadelphia, Camden, Los Angeles etc. and what is it that they all have in common? Democrats don't give a crap about their constituents until it's election time, then they all scramble into the hood making sure people vote in the politician's interest and not their own, the politicians wins and it's tata to the hood until the next election comes around. I dare a Democrat to come here and tell me what Obama and what other Democrats have done to better the lives of their constituents? How is the South Side of Chicago better off since Obama was a community organizer there? and now that he's President? He and the Democrats for their own selfish reasons need to make the US just like Detroit, Chicago etc.

What happen there is so wrong and why it is not brought to the attention of all Americans is a sin. It should be broadcast daily and mandtory learning in all schools. :banghead:
"Liberalism is an essentially feminine, submissive world view. Perhaps a better adjective than feminine is infantile. It is the world view of men who do not have the moral toughness, the spiritual strength to stand up and do single combat with life, who cannot adjust to the reality that the world is not a huge, pink-and-blue, padded nursery in which the lions lie down with the lambs and everyone lives happily ever after."

I think most teabagging neo-con rednecks (DUmpspeak for decent and civilized people) would take issue with DUmmy snagglepuss. We'd agree with the UAW and liberals being largely to blame, though we'd know how to spell "liberal". We would disagree on hippies, since those scuzzy fleabags would never survive in Detroit. The group far more to blame with the desolation of Detroit are the swarms of community organizers, colleagues of the jug-eared Kenyan, who for more than thirty years have run Detroit local government like a Western hemisphere version of Uganda. The other chief culprits are all the gangs of little junior community organizers, who have made the center of Detroit, like most  big cities, unsafe for decent and civilized people to frequent.

Anyplace that elects a leader named "Kwame" is destined to a fate as bad as if they'd elected someone named "Hussein".

There are more than a few threads where the dummies are spinning out of control.  Looking up they see green sky looking down they see blue grass.

Dummies are always the smartest people in the room but only when they are the only people in the room.
Here from yet another thread is a classic exchange:

29. But they treat us like losers when the economy is good.
I've known people who have had benefits I can only dream of... and they are all private-sector workers. I've had friends who receive annual bonuses, matching savings plans, tickets to sporting events handed out to employees, and lengthy vacations. I get none of that. Friends with high school diplomas make more than I do in a job that requires a degree.

Those same workers probably don't have those benefits now that the economy is down, but I NEVER had them, and those guys used to look down on me like I was a minimum-wage worker because of my state job.

I have a medical plan, a pension plan, and paid holidays. That's very basic stuff, and when the economy is booming I feel like a loser for not getting what the rest of you had. But then the economy crashes, but my job doesn't change (that's the nature of state employment), suddenly they think I'm being pampered.

They need to build 20 100 story low income housing complexes, stick all of the people in them, put birth control in the water sources, put up a 50' electrified razor wire fence around them, and bulldoze the whole freaking city.

This thread illustrates 100% why the DUmmies are left behind, and it's really scary that people like this are allowed to vote and reproduce.   They cannot even put together the concept that cities and states under liberal rule always fail and constantly suck the life out of the rest of this country.  Now, one of them is our president and is spreading the misery around to all the states and all Americans.

I guess it's too much to ask that they begin to put the facts together.

That's because you never paid into SS. You have that 24k Gold state tit to suckle on when the time comes instead. You have that State paid medical plan and just as many vacations and better holidays than most private sector folks. Your trade off for not having to provide those for yourself is the lower pay DUmmie.

I am blaming the animals of Detroit who do not care about their community at all.  It's such a shame that people can let their own community look this horrible.

And, of course, who has been in charge of Detroit for all of these decades?  An "R" or a "D"?

That's what I thought......

And then KKKarl Rove and his evil BFEE minions tricked the unions into messing around with their contracts too much and made it impossible to get a good car for a good price out of the U.S.  Then Pappy Bush told his friends the Japanese to start building and selling cheap but good cars and thus ruined Detroit so badly that even the most progressive policies failed.
