Anti-quote source, too, by the looks of it - it's the last line:

Someone lately addressed me as an “Eco-Friendly Type”, and it caught my attention because I’m not. I’m a “Prevent-Suffering Type”. That I’m focused on climate change has less to do with environmentalism than with a desire to shield loved ones from too much pain. If I thought whales were the biggest threat to my loved ones, I’d kill the whales.

I’m a normal bloke who had four months last year (thank-you recession) to study world events and who came to understand that climate change is more threatening than most people know, even those who’re nervous about it. You may have noticed increasing numbers of people like me. Worry is no longer limited to environmentalists because it’s no longer a theoretical problem. Turns out it’s real and bad. Oops.

  • Creepy ass cracker.
You know something climate change is hard to disprove. The reason being is the climate of the earth is constantly changing. There have been dramatic shifts in the climate well before the first SUV rolled off the assembly line. Antarctica was once not covered with ice. Did SUVS and cow farts cause the change? Or was it the natural changes that occur on this globe hurtling through space.

These moonbats who think the only way that mother Earth can be saved by taxing the hell out of the rich are insane.
In fact taxing the hell out the rich is their solution to everything from toenail fungus to saving the solar system.  :mental:
I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

About that toenail fungus...I think wading thru liberal BS is the cause.
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

No, you are gullible DUchebag.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

How many words and special interest groups have these idiots come up with in the past 8 years?
NAMBLA is a left-wing organization.

There's a reason why patriotism is considered a conservative value. Watch a Tea Party rally and you'll see people proudly raising the American flag and showing pride in U.S. heroes such as Thomas Jefferson. Watch an OWS rally and you'll see people burning the American flag while showing pride in communist heroes such as Che Guevera. --Bob, from some news site

At least tinrobot is honest when s/he says "if I thought whales were the biggest threat to my loved ones, I'd kill the whales."

That kind of sums up the problem with enviro-nuts.  Myopic thinking.  Single issue focus.  Whatever catches their attention.

Dealing with them here in the West, I notice one group thinks the feral horses are the most important - to the demise of habitat of other species in the area.  Others favor a mouse to the exclusion of reptiles.  Still others want unobstructed views with no tracks on the land, but scream when there is a fire and crews can't get there quickly enough in their opinion and wonder why communication is so limited.

And we know that marketers for the special interest groups play to inerests and fears to bring in huge incomes.
