New Year's Eve Plans?

So what are you doing tomorrow night?

Second question, if you know--what time do your liquor stores close?  (Or grocery stores, for those locales which do not have state liquor stores.)

Probably going to the local watering hole early, come home early, watch the ball drop (the Times Square one, not mine) and call it good.  Local liquor stores are state run (beer/wine is sold in grocery stores) and they're closing at 5 tomorrow.

It's Mrs E's birthday, so we'll just have a little bit of cake and bubbly cider or something. We just don't go out on NYE - ain't worth it.

I live in Las Vegas where we are having TONS of parties, but I will be staying at home and away from all the intoxicated fools that come here from all over the country to party in the 29 degree weather.

I'll have a few drinks at home.

No plans, because we're expected to get pummeled with snow tomorrow.

Beer and liquor can be sold in Nebraska from 6:00 a.m. until 1:00 a.m., in most places--although in Omaha and Lincoln, until 2:00 a.m.

That's retails and bars, both.

As usual, no plans.  That way nobody gets bent out of shape when something happens at the last minute.

Party at a friend's house.  We thought about a bar, but decided that we would have more fun at home, and the drinks will be cheaper

December 31 is my wedding anniversary.  16 years wonderful years.  I told my wife the appropriate gift was an expensive Japanese fishing reel.  She's quite suspicious about that.

We'll watch movies at home until almost midnight then change to one of the channels covering the New Year, open a bottle of champagne to toast the new year.  Of course the champagne is also our celebration for our anniversary which is New Years Eve.

Wow.  Woulda been 32 years for my Dad and Stepmom.

I don't go out on amateur night.  Hanging at home.  I can buy liquor till 9, and beer/wine till 12.  But I have been collecting beers when they were on sale, and my beer fridge and wine rack are filled.  I also have some Scotch if I want.
R.I.P. LC and Crockspot.  Miss you guys.

We're going out early - like 5 or 5:30 - meeting for cocktails with Runnin' Buddy and J, then home early to watch football snugged up on the couch in front of the fireplace and away from all the crazies. Both the guys would prefer to be in their "chairs" watching football without any conversation. I want to read a book, and have an occasional glance at the tv.

RB and I talked yesterday and decided we are just partied out. We even cancelled the New Year's Day "cook-a-thon" as she's being more serious about our diet than I am(everyone is telling me not to lose anymore weight... :whatever: ). Daughter, SIL, and the munchkins are still coming over, but I'm scaling way back on what I'm cooking. Just want to enjoy the family being together.

My in-laws are spending the night en route from NH to Florida. Early dinner, then watching old people fall asleep on the couch!

I hate New Year's eve, St. Patrick's Day, etc. Anyone who needs a reason to go out and get drunk isn't trying hard enough. It's amateur night.

God alone suffices.

M doesn't ever lay on the couch, he has his chair molded to his tush  ::) , but T and I are convinced when the couch was made, sleeping drugs were somehow absorbed into the leather. Lay on the thing 5 minutes and that's all you will remember until you wake up a couple hours later!   I remember 10pm last night watching the start of a tv show, next thing I knew, it was 1:15 and almost the end of Craig Ferguson. 3rd night this week I've done that.... :thatsright:

Working 6pm-6am, should be interesting. Doubletime and 1/2 so its all good.
"Liberalism is an essentially feminine, submissive world view. Perhaps a better adjective than feminine is infantile. It is the world view of men who do not have the moral toughness, the spiritual strength to stand up and do single combat with life, who cannot adjust to the reality that the world is not a huge, pink-and-blue, padded nursery in which the lions lie down with the lambs and everyone lives happily ever after."

Nothing different. Although this tiny town will be full of snowmobiles zipping up and down the roads until way after 2am.

Working at one of my moonlighting gigs Friday and Saturday, so will probably kick back tomorrow night.  Might go early to a locally favored bar for one just because, though.
