Thanks to Rebel for starting it up. Thanks to Thor, Chris and the mods for keeping it going. What a great place this is!

I would like to thank BadCat.

The Paulbots had chased many away from CU with their constant pushing. I had almost stopped going there. I checked in one day and had a PM from BC with a link to CC. It had been in my inbox for several days. I was about a week late to the party, but I made it and am grateful to be with sane folk again.
Come to think of it, unions do create jobs. Companies have to hire two workers to do the work of one.

I no longer remember who dragged me over here; I was not one of the originals, waiting until January 3, 2008 to show up.  It might've been BadCat, it might've been someone else.

I was reluctant to come, because of my natural conservatism; I like to be sure a ship's actually sinking, before I jump overboard.  Usually my criteria, given my conservative nature, is when the water's up to one's neck, yep, the ship's sinking, no doubt about it.

The major nuisances at our old home are long gone from there now, marking a substantial improvement in our old home, and so one has nothing but the best feelings and wishes for our old home, but once planted here, well, one doesn't want to be anywhere else.

Got here late to this thread, but I seem to remember that it was you, Coach, who cued me in to CC.  I was wondering where everyone had gone--the Paulistinians were all over CC.

After leaving CU during the Ronulan Invasion and wondering arounf for a short time I got invited to come here and have never regreted doing so. We have stayed tried and true and best of all the trolls are not allowed to ruin the carpet. We let the Jarheads do that.

I would like to thank Rebel for inviting me here.

The Paulistinians caused me to stop posting at CU (and I have libertarian leanings; just not their really nutty views), but I still lurked, and got a PM with a link to this place.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CC!!!

Man, it's been a great three years! Looking forward to many, many more.
I can see November 2 from my house!!!

Spread my work ethic, not my wealth.

Forget change, bring back common sense.

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

I guess it's fair to say that I'm a transplant from USMILNET, where I was a mod at various levels and even an Admin for awhile. USMILNET is now chiefly operated by some great Coasties (rustybayonet is one of them who has an account here and loves to host various trivia games), though I do pop back over there from time to time. USMILNET is where I first encountered Thor, debk, and I think, Caballo Loco, not to mention RebelKev. Thor has mellowed a great deal in his old age, and debk is wise, astute, and very much a delight to see on these pages.

I think Crazy Horse has been out eating loco weed. Ain't seen him for awhile.  :whistling:
