There's a reason for all of that. They all do and they all are.
And all their homes are mini-mansions.

When I see Jehovah's Witnesses, they always knock on the door and try to convert you.

Not all of'em. Some of those freaks are still living in trailers.

BTW, they ALL live in trailers while their houses are built, and one year after it's built. They line the windows with aluminum foil to keep the demons out.

Bunch of f'n kooks. Oh, their daughters? Well, Jon Benet Ramsey looks homely compared to their daughters. They dress their daughters up like Tammy Faye Baker.

Watch a Tea Party rally and you'll see people proudly raising the American flag and showing pride in U.S. heroes such as Thomas Jefferson. ...but I can't really gripe about JW's. I live about 7 miles from a bunch of kooks called the "Irish Travelers" in Edgefield, SC. All of'em are Catholic and I swear, all of'em have the same f'n name. They're also crooks.
Where I saw them was called Murphy Village, near Augusta. 60 Minutes did a show there. They fan out all over the country running home improvement scams in the summer.

That's them. They're off exit 5 at the Edgefield, SC exit.

I'm in GA, BTW.

They're not much like the gypsy camps I remember seeing as a kid.

While the women and children try to steal everything in town that's not tied down. One trick they have is to buy something at a low price, change the sticker and return it for a higher price. They have all kinds of scams going.

But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

I'm aware of that, Deb. My point was that JW's conform to their traditions, routines, cultural pressures like anyone else. I'm merely mirroring the primitives argument for him to understand that. JW's do in indeed conform to their own standards set forth by other JW's--they are nothing more exceptional then the people the dummie is seeking to scorn. Just because he agrees with their standards does not mean they are under any less pressure then others in their group as that which the dummie doesn't like.  That's the point I was making.

Other significant points where they differ from many - regardless of the religion.

Sorry, jty..I misunderstood what you wrote. I thought you meant they conform to the traditional Christian faith practices - ie..celebrating Christmas, Easter, etc.

Many of my better friends growing up were JW's and Mormons.  I don't agree with their religious viewpoints, but I will say they were good, trustworthy people, and their sense of devotion to their families was to be admired.
