For a brief moment, 0bamao lured me with his rhetoric. I sure as hell didn't like McCain. Then, as I started peeling back the layers of the onion that 0bamao is, I quickly decided he wouldn't be the candidate for me. The more I learned, the more I feared for the well-being of this nation. So far, my fears have been well founded. He's a doper. He's pro-abortion and almost seems to me as if he's pro-genocide. He hangs out with terrorists. He was raised by Commies. He has a well hidden past. I could go on ad nauseum, but  won't. What bugs me now is that I, too, question his legitimacy and only because of two reasons. 1.) He refuses to bring forth ANY of his past documents and 2.) He's spent an awful lot of money keeping them secret. Hell, it didn't take long to find out John Kerry's college grades, which were worse than GW Bush's. Me, I don't like secrets, especially when it comes to this country's leaders.

No, I was not ever supportive of Obama.

That being said, when he won the election, I was willing to give him a chance and see if he was worthy of support as he was now the President of the United States and I'm old enough to remember that The President is supposed to receive respect.

He was so eloquent in his speeches of things were going to be different...he was going to see to it, that the two parties would work together for the betterment of the country, etc, etc.....who knew, maybe he could do it! Yeah, all he did was make Congress even more divisive and continually blame Bush for every little thing.

I think I changed my mind during his first State of the Union address, a week or so after he was inaugurated....

He is narcissistic, cold, and as Thor said, he is anti-life.

He had a personality cult similar to dictators of the past. That alone disqualified him in my eyes, not even counting his intention to socialize the country or the amount of effort he goes through to keep his past secret.

Lord Zero turned me off from the moment I saw him speak at the Dem Convention in 2004.

Instead of words, I looked at body language and deportment. Words are nothing for a politician - they all have empty meaning, and when people hang their hopes on mere words, well, that tells me how empty those people truly are.

What I saw was unparalleled arrogance. And, yes, evil. I saw nothing that approximated honesty and integrity. As DAT stated, he was a product of the Chicago political machine. As I had lived in Chicagoland some years ago, I KNEW what that meant.

There was absolutely NO CONNECTION between me and Lord Zero - right from the get-go.

I never could understand the level of worship that you libs have for that empty suit. Obama is a travesty and an embarrassment.

And his record, thus far in his questionable "presidency," has borne out my fears.

I wouldnt even support McCain let alone obama. Both candidates stunk to high heaven.

But Odumbo was the worst.

I didnt like Bush (the 'compassionate' conservative) either, but he was the lesser of 2 evils. (in the first primaries I voted Steve Forbes) But americans are generally a vain lot indeed. If somebody looks prettier or does a better job of selling snake oil - then the media will support him or her and the sheeple will vote him into power.

Btw -  'compassionate' conservative is code for RINO.

Hasnt been anything worth a pot to piss in since Reagan.

People forget .. he (Reagan) ran 3 times before he got elected. And he always had a democrat majority congress he had to deal with. Conservatism is a completely unnatural act for 99% of politicians because it empowers the governed (the voters) over the governors (the government). Its the reason President Washington returned to his home after his term was done when he could have been King. He set the example for all presidents to follow. Until Roosevelt anyways. Its just too easy to get 'drunk' on the power - as obama is finding out now. Its all too human.

But if we simply allow them to shred the constitution as they are doing now (both partys) - then all bets are off. Rome fell the same way. Without the rule of law - what have you got? We are currently in what can be described as a 'soft tyranny'. Guess what follows if we dont stop and reverse it? As sure as communism follows socialism.

Can you guess the diff between communism and socialism?

You didn't vote for McCain, then you voted for Obama by default.

No way -- I saw a young Senator with a gift.   There was no arrogance.  That came AFTER his speech at the convention when people stood up and took notice of this young man.

He could have been great, but instead pushed common sense aside and believed the stuff that was written about him.    Poor handling of a could-of-been politician.    He jumped off the cliff instead and we are watching the free fall.

If you've ever read The Left Behind series of books.....Obama - when in his campaign mode, and people are cheering, women with adoring expressions and even fainting,.... reminds me of the character of Nicolai...the Anti-Christ.  :(

Short answer: NO!

Long answer: Hell No!

Explanation of long answer: No "F"ing way!

Reasoning behind my answers.

His actions have all been .......................................commie.
I think I'm beginning to a pattern in there somewhere.

Yeah....and women wet their panties over him too....but I never read about them saying what some american female reporters said about Obama, "He has a nice package.".....makes you want to repeal wominz right to vote.

Of course then you have the male reporters with the tingling leg syndrome....sheeesh! What a way to select a president.

I couldn't bear to watch the video clip.  I can't even look at this guy; he makes me sick.  I've heard he reads a mean teleprompter though.
Sarah Palin does not need a teleprompter.  I've seen her wing it.  She was my favorite candidate, although I do have a soft spot for John McCain, based on his sacrifice for this country, a far greater sacrifice than most of us will ever be called upon to make.  Therefore, any political wiffle waffling aside, I respect the man.  Wish he'd retire to his Sedona ranch though. :p

My message is lost here.   It has nothing to do with the substance of the candidate -- that is developed by their party, or should have been.

I am referring to the process of the making of a great candidate.   He skipped critical steps, and because of that he crashed and burned.

We get the picture.

Rushing into the "Community Center", making a quick speech that gets everyones panties in a wad as you make your way to the golf course does nor prepare you for the Oval office.

I don't know.  He was a great candidate, he won huge.  A manchurian candidate who only knows how to run for office knowing his base.  He is clueless now that he got the job and thats why he is crashing and burning.

Your Mileage May Vary - but I saw what I saw. Arrogance was the most prevalent behavior and that, almost instantaneously, turned me off.

I didn't see a gifted speaker - I saw glib, slick behavior.

I didn't latch onto his words, because from my perspective, his words were empty; rang hollow.

I don't think Obama "could have been great" at all - mostly because he doesn't have what it takes. If I'm guilty from seeing that before he was out of his political starting blocks on the national level, hey, guilty as charged.  :whatever:

Nope. I voted for Palin. If it wasnt for her I probably would have stayed home. Made me sick how the democrats and the rino repuke leadership in the northeast nominated McCain even before I got a chance to vote here in the south ...

I even made a Palin/McCain bumper sticker. Palin on the top. Thats how convoluted the whole thing was to me.

But I knew about Obamas record and his intentions long before he beat the Hildebeast. I even posted youtube vids all over the place. But ... people who want to be fooled are easily fooled ... as was my own mother.

I had the "pleasure" of voting against him twice, for U.S. Senate in 2004 and President in 2008.  Neither time was I particularly enamored of the Republican candidate, Alan Keyes in '04 and McCain in '08.

I was just never impressed with his Obama's political beliefs.  He seemed like a pretty dynamic speaker but an empty suit politically.  He's proven me correct.
