California says census missed 1.5 million residents

California officials estimate that the U.S. Census Bureau failed to count 1.5 million of the state's residents, a discrepancy that if true could cost the state billions of dollars in federal aid over the next decade and perhaps an increase in its representation in Congress.

On Tuesday, the Census Bureau released national and state population figures that declared California to have 37.3 million residents, 10% more than in 2000. That growth — based on mailed-in surveys and door-to-door interviews by census takers — roughly mirrored the nation's, but meant that for the first time since California became a state in 1850 it did not grow enough to add another member to its congressional delegation.

"It cuts away at our share of the $400 billion a year that the federal government doles out to states." said Assembly Speaker John Pérez, a Los Angeles Democrat.
Los Angeles Times

The mayor of Los Angeles is openly in favor of illegal immigration to the state... I don't think they should get any federal money at all.  Let them live under their own rules without taking money from the rest of us.

1990-2010: How Many Jobs and Businesses Have Left California?
In addition to all the companies listed below, Vranich has found a report which shows 25% of California’s manufacturing jobs have left between 1990 and 2007.

That's a long list.
This is from last May- how many more escaped since then?

No, Mister Perez, it's finally reached the tipping point, where migration to California and births simply isn't keeping up with the exodus LEAVING California anymore.

Sincerely,

Former California Resident

census missed 1.5 million residents...that's a big graveyard.

But you know damned good and well that they counted 2-3 million folks who weren't LEGAL residents of CommieFunny without batting a friggin' eyelash...  :banghead:

It is interesting that this belief is based on the fact that we didn't increase more than anybody else, rather than any actual evidence that people were missed  :whatever:

The state has evidence, unfortunately it involves how many illegals have obtained services provided by taxpayers.

Tough titty, Californistan.  Errors in counting would be roughly proportional nationwide, so they cancel out.

 :thatsright:Obviously, I skimmed the article.

I know that there was a serious drive to get all the illegal's included in the census.

Yep. Obama even enlisted Dora the Explorer to pimp the census.
