Revenue is like sales in business. You have to raise revenue to pay cost of goods and overhead.

I don't understand why they are not simply raising the taxes.

This is a numbing argument. I took government accounting.. our leaders are charged with levying taxes to pay our debts. If they have no courage to do it, then they need to be impeached. If they refuse to do it, they are treasonous and need to be not only recalled, they need to go to jail.

People, stop being duped. Tax raising is required. The share of taxes you will pay is relative too the profit you make. If there are no profits, you pay no taxes.

Spending is legally mandated to provide services to the American people with the money we (individuals and businesses) pay for taxes, licenses, and fees. Some spending is allowed because of grants and contributions made by organizations that want something done for a restricted reason.

The costs to run a country is based on the ability to raise revenues.

If the tax cuts are returned to our coffers, and the loopholes are closed, then the debt can be paid in one no time.

NOT to raise taxes is stupid. Are we stupid?

And cuts are NOT a raise in taxes.

This would be putting back into the coffers what has been missing for the last ten years.

If we remove cuts and loopholes and raise taxes fairly, we will all be prosperous.

I am tired of government by belief. Think and act for a change, or leave. Do your job.

No SS check no pet food. (I walked three hours yesterday collecting $4 in recyclables. I spent today in bed shaking with spasms due to aggravation of the spinal cord damage that has me on disability, but that will buy 8 cans of food for my cats.)

Stress from landlords demanding rent and creditors demanding payments will probably claim some of those lives.

Depression will most certainly claim other lives.

They're incredible idiots, but she's the Tiger Woods (in his bimbo, HGH prime) of DUmbness.  One DUmmy who comes close is Pedro Picasso, but he's like Lee Trevino to Beth's Jack Nicklaus.

There really is a parallel universe. The ignorance, anger and deep-rooted hatred there seem like some kind of demented script that could have been written by Rod Serling or Stephen King.

I’ve often seen anger and occasionally seen hatred here on DU, but nothing to match the soul-searing hell of freeperville. The “thoughts” and beliefs these people hold makes one wonder how they make it through any given day. And, IMO, it seems impossible to live with the amount of bile they have stored up within themselves.

I’ve often gotten shots taken at my Ops here on DU, but nothing compared to what I just saw. Free Republic is a very ugly place. And the ideas expressed there are almost beyond my comprehension. I really don’t know how any normal human being can live being filled with that much rage.

 I was harrassed for a week after my coworker was promoted to supervisor and thought he could use it to demand sex from me. He complained about me to my agency and I lost my job. I filed an EEOC suit against the company and just got their response. 30 pages of denial and trashing me. They really didn't look into it, of course, just wrote how abrasive and uncooperative I am, and defended their people. I knew it was going to be like this, but it still makes me sick. Still unemployed.

 I live here in DC (not by choice, I was shanghaiied here from NYC and I'm stuck because of the economy, I can't get anybody back in NYC or CT to give me the time of day on giving me a job interview...I ain't picky, I'd go work at McDonald's if I could get home. I likewise can't quit my current job, I have a resume since age 22 littered with jobs I quit within the first 2 years in about 6 different fields so I need to make a go in this one; I've earned a rep for being "that employee" who skips from entry-level position to entry-level position changing fields but never promoting.), they won't travel, I can't afford to travel and they, despite being millionaires, won't put me on a plane to visit them because they're convinced I'd never leave. (That time I went to visit admittedly, I did try to pull that.)
I think there are a lot people whose life-circumstances have them up shit-creek without a paddle.

The classic DUmmie.
