Watching the vote on DADT, in tears...
 I am a 45 year old straight man...I am thrilled for the people who were discriminated against, I am thrilled the progressive majority (and others) decided to bring about PROGRESS.

May God bless President Obama and our leadership...

What you call progress is needless destruction.  Leftists hate America and the military, I would wonder at your tears of joy if I didn't already know why you cheer for this.

The rest of the developed world?  A collected pack of fools who, outside of the UK, have armed forces that would be in trouble against a troop of determined boy scouts.  Is that what you want, an armed forces that are so weak that you have no choice but to acceed to the demands of whatever barbarian happens to show up at your gates this week?

 When I made my numerous calls to my congress critters about repealing DADT, I told them that I wasn't gay, I didn't have a dog in the fight other than the belief that all of our service members deserved to be treated with respect and dignity. They laced up their boots every damn day for their country, the least that we could do for them is to acknowledge their existence and except & respect them for who they were.

Yes, leftist, you did have a dog in this fight.  You would see an America prostrated before her enemies.  You are one step closer.  Congratulations.

Six generations of my family have fought for my country and what they believed in.  What they believed was woth fighting and killing and dying for.  Because of this act, I will be discouraging my children from following.  I wonder how many more parents and teenager are now looking at this and saying it just isn't worth it. 

A large portion of America hasn't sent a family member into the military in over a generation.

I bet you anything the first person to make a sexual harassment case against an openly gay soldier will be cast as a homophobic, racist, and whatever name they will call him.

Or what about those of us who don't have perfect eyesight? It's totally unfair that the Army won't let us be pilots.

I hadn't thought of that but you are right. They may have to wait until gay marriage is forced though before the DOD has to recognize same sex partners. If a straight couple is shacking up, the civilian partner doesn't get an ID card, px (or bx) privileges, health care, etc. The military partner doesn't get BAQ and food allowances and has to maintain a barracks room.

The next lawsuit I am sure will be recognizing of gay marriage partners by the DOD.

I would like to know if this is going to allow tons of lawsuits for so called "harassment"? and who's going to determine what does and doesn't constitute harassment? and if people are going to be able to celebrate "gay pride" openly on bases? I've been doing some reading on the Israeli Military because the left always seems to cite them, and it's interesting because our system is all volunteer whereas Israeli's are drafted, so in a way they have to let gay people in, also in doing my reading it seems that Orthodox Jews live in separate but equal quarters because of their stand against homosexuality, also Israel is a small Country, they need all the help they can get. A part of me is on the fence with this issue, I want our Military to decide themselves what is truly best, not some Politician with a political agenda, the Military shouldn't be a social experiment.

Well, I fear they are gonna get exactly what they wished for! When all these blow job artists and carpet munchers declare their individuality, there will be hell to pay! It won't be anything violent, it will be more like bein' left alone in the darkness and worryin' what could happen!

I doubt seriously they have even thought how there comrades will react! It could be you will see a mass exodus from the military of these queers! I know from talkn' to the few current and former marines I know, it wouldn't be a good idea to suddenly tell them ya like the way their pecker hangs!

The problem is Bally, they could never put forth their agenda if they left it up to those who serve! They would be excoriated, hands down! They can't leave it up to the majority because they are a minute minority! It would never happen!

It's a damn shame that, not content with dragging the economy into the gutter, Lord Zer0 is determined to drive the military there as well.  I haven't been in the military in 25 years, and no one was ever dumb enough to believe the Armed Forces had no serving gay folks, but there's an enormous psychological difference between showering in front of a bunch of women, one or more who might conceivably be ogling your ass and KNOWING that so and so digs women.  It's exactly the same as forcing women to shower with straight men.

Maybe the gay guys should shower with the straight women soldiers and the lesbians with the straight male soldiers.  There shouldn't be any hormones floating around that way.

For those idiots who are going to persist in labeling those of us opposed to this move as homophobic, YOU get your ass into the military and serve since you think it's such a great idea.  For every DUer who CLAIMS military service, perhaps one in ten is telling the truth. 

Shit, not only are a select group of people carrying the load for the rest of us in defending the country; yes I know they volunteered, but now they have to carry Harry Reid's horseshit social agenda.

OTOH, maybe in January the new Congress can stop this dead in its tracks.
