Personally, I'd prefer the border to be manned by weaponized robots, a 50-foot high electrified fence and a moat full of pirahnas and crocs.  No offense to our brave BP guys, of course.  But sometimes more IS better.

I would be happy with a mine field and automated weapons on motion detectors.  Some of the mines would have to be buried deep to foil the tunnel diggers, though.

The following reports are unconfirmed 2nd or 3rd hand accounts, but come from three different sources that have all been credible in the past.

I was told twice today that Border Patol Agent Brian A. Terry, who was killed on December 14th, was armed with “bean-bag rounds.”

Kinda runs parallel with National Guard troops having empty mags in their service weapons.

Napolitano Scolds Reporter for Airing Complaints of Dead Border Agent's Family

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, leaving the funeral of a murdered Border Patrol agent Wednesday, scolded a reporter for asking her to address the victim's family's concerns that not enough is being done to secure the southern border.

The family of agent Brian Terry had complained that Napolitano had offered them "empty words" when she called to express her condolences. Terry's father, Kent Terry, in an interview with ABC affiliate KGUN, said he told Napolitano to "wake your man up in the White House," to which she replied that he's done more in two years than any president.

That may be true. But it doesn't negate the fact that things have deteriorated more than any feeble attempts that Obumbler has made to combat them.

Family Of Slain Border Agent Slams Response By Obama, Napolitano

"Well, I think now is not the time to talk about all that has been done and is being done," Napolitano told the family. However, during her eulogy at the funeral Napolitano brought up border security.

"Listen, we are here today, the commissioner is here and the chief and this is not a time for the media to pick a fight. It's time to remember a fallen agent," Napolitano said when asked about criticism from the family.
No Janet it is the perfect time!

My son, ex-Marine, works out at one of the Ft. Huachuca gyms with his buddy, who is AD Army...they ran into a National Guard guy down here to help supplement Border Patrol forces.  According to this guy, the Army guys are actually being issued REAL LIVE ammo, which is a 100% improvement from last time when they got blanks. :fuelfire:
STILL, I want an army of pirhanas and crocs and a 50' high electrified fence.

Sharks with lasers and a mine field.

Whatever will get the job done.  Hell, simply unleashing all the retired military and police officers in this country chomping on the bit to defend her, UNLIKE A CERTAIN AMERICAN HATING PRESIDENT, would probably be sufficient.
