Honest to god conversation today
So I am sitting in the lunch room today.

Co-worker comes in.

Me: Did you see the governor of Texas is talking about eliminating medicaid in that state? Apparently the Texas health and human services commission is actually conducting a study to see what would happen if they did it.

Her: I know people who make lots of money and have good jobs and they are on medicaid. (SURE you do)

Me: Well apparently there is also a commission studying cuts to social security.

Her: They'll never cut my social security.

END OF CONVERSATION. Went back to staring at the wall for the duration of lunch.

What a country....

A complex bouncy for sure! DUmmy Twix is pulling out all the stops in campaigning for Top DUmmy votes. I must have missed something, if DUmmy TwixVoy has a lunch room to loiter in. After missing out on one job after another, including a TSA gig at the air  port, due to failing last minute drug tests, then discovering the only foreign country he could enter was Yemen, he's now claiming to educate low information repukes in the lunch room of some imaginary job site. Twix should go ahead and sign that agreement to blow himself up, and shuffle off to Yemen.

DUmmy thunder rising is looking on the bright side:

8. I hear shit like that all the time.
"My neighbor has a good job working for the city and they get Medicaid, $800 a month in food stamps, and a $3000 welfare check every month." I finally got sick of that shit and just started calling them on their lies. Calling someone a liar isn't a polite thing to do even if it is true, but I think it's time we stop letting these people make up their own reality. One of the reasons we're in this situation is because we don't demand the truth from the media and those in power.

DUmmy Capitalocracy is more likely to become an astronaut than to ever make $3000 a month.

Makes four bouncys!

I liked the 3k per month being rich comment.  36k / 2080 = what per hour?  Oh yeah, about $17.50 per hour.  A tidy sum I will admit but hardly rich, a worthy talisman for all the folk out there who hear the crys of "soak the rich".

I thought Twix was off to Portugal.  I love the threads where the Dummies are packing their bags.  They often look to Canada, because they're stuck in the Vietnam era hippie world.  They don't realize that Canada was kicked off a UN Security Council for being too conservative now.  They support Israel (gasp!) and currently practice sound fiscal policy.  This is anathema to a DUmmie.

Wasn't he the one who quit/got fired from Target, and also got nailed for drinking in his dorm room at ASU?

Twix got fired from Target.  The guy who was busted for drinking was ArmyofWalgreen's.  A real loser.  Anyone remember that tale he told about his landlord locking him out of the rented house or whatever?  He was majoring in Phillosophy.  Had to take an econ class which covered Reaganomics, which gave him seizures.

To paraphrase an old joke:

Q:  What is the difference between a fairy tale and a DUmmie bouncy?

A:  A fairy tale starts off with "Once upon a time" and a DUmmie bouncy starts with "An honest to God conversation".

Isn't that interesting phrasing?  I think everyone I know would have phrased that;

if I could earn $3,000 a month ...

I don't think anyone with an actual household take-home of 3K/mo is going to think of themselves as rich, in purely materialistic terms that is.

Maybe the dummy was thinking interest and dividend income? Anyone want to do s sinking fund calculation to see what kind of scratch would have to be on deposit to generate that? Considering the Trustifarians over there it is a distinct possibility there are those who actually do collect that kind of dough.  We have lots of Trustafarians around here and most tend to be obnoxious libs.

Exactly.

We're always broke.  Damn taxes and rising electricity rates.  Using my husband as an example, his company froze his raise this year (as of right now).  He won't know if he gets a pay raise until February now.  They took away all overtime.  He isn't allowed to work one minute of overtime until further notice.  It's only him (a manager) and one employee.  It's kind of crazy to take away all overtime, yet expect only two people to get all of the work done.

Hopefully his company will give him his raise in February.

Not hardly...3000 a month don't go far when you're payin for 2 places....

No kidding.  I make a substantially more than the $3K, the mortgage on the farm is less than most people pay on a house alone, all the cars have been paid off for a long time, and there still isn't really much of anything left over after all the bills are paid and the pig's been fed each month.

I dare say there isn't a single moron over there that understands the day to day operation of a farm or a ranch! Right now grass hay is $95/ton and grain is $450/ton. I go thru a ton of hay every 6 days and a ton of grain every 6 weeks! The animals eat before I do!

Vegans don't have to feed alfalfa sprouts or tofu! They just have to visit "Whole Foods"! At least I can hope they have to do it in sub zero weather, like I do!
