So, the electricity to my fridge was cut off. How long will the food

remain eatible?

I have vegetables and cheese--goat cheese and some cheddar and lean beef. How long before I have to throw this out?

It has been about twenty four hours since the power went out. Anybody know how long the dairy and lean beef will last.

Thank you in advance for any advice.

This is what happens when you make partial payments on your electric bill.  They hold the appliances hostage!  They'll turn one off every couple of hours until you PAY UP!!

This is actually a legit question in areas (like mine) that lose power a lot or for significant periods during the winter months.

If you KNOW bad weather (wind or ice storms) that could knock out power are coming, turn up the fridge and freezer to their highest settings.

Second, WHY THE HELL HAVEN'T YOU CHECKED THE BREAKER PANEL, YOU DUMB TWIT?

Finally, if the power does go out, the stuff in the fridge will start to spoil in as little as 6-8 hours, but the freezer, particularly if full and cold (and if you don't open it) will keep stuff for as long as 48 hours.  By that point, you can either have 1--reset the breaker, 2--paid the power bill, 3--hooked up the generator, 4--shot yourself.

And depending on how cold it is outside, put your food outside.  And/or toss it in a cooler.  That will help save some anyway.

We need to know the ambient temperature, the initial frig temp, and how often the DUmbass opens the door.

As stated, my guess would be to check the breaker panel for a tripped breaker. There are also these newfangled things called Volt Meters. Check the outlet because your fridge might just have taken a shit on you. Knowing the laziness of the typical DUchebag, I'm confident that they never cleaned the heat exchanger.

If there is voltage at other outlets, the CBkr is not tripped, then I would get a nice fat short extension cord three wire 12AWG and plug it into another outlet to save the food.

Going to the DUmp for any technical advice would be my very last course of action.

Throw everything away.

You can't be too careful.

There we have the typical liberal viewpoint.  PANIC!!!!! Don't think about, just PANIC!!!!

I checked the thread and not a single perso...er DUmbass thinks about diagnosing the problem and fixing it...more typical liberal  thinking.  This is a great example of why liberals should never be put in charge of anything other than safety scissors.

When the grow light plugged into the same outlet shorts and turns said outlet into a pile of plastic slag on the floor.

They don't worry about throwing it out.  They didn't pay for it in the first place.

Ever notice it's never just cheese, milk or hamburger. It's always goat cheese, brie, soy milk, some special lean ground beef that cost more than normal hamburger, tofu, etc?  Everytime they talk about food they always have to make sure that everyone knows they don't eat regular people food.
