Cheney has been reduced to buying his freedom from Nigeria

Monetary compensation may have been what the Nigerians wanted to start with, so they've won. It seems they gained much more out of dropping the charges than they would by continuing an un-winnable prosecution. They won more than they lost.

The fact that Cheney goes free doesn't mean anything. He would have gone free anyway.

If we want to get even small satisfaction out of this it should be that Cheney has to keep throwing money at his problems. My fervent hope is that he has to do this every day for the rest of his life. May he enjoy his 'freedom'. His life depends on being plugged in to a socket just to continue being alive. How is that better than a jail cell?

Cheney is a slave to his condition. He's living on borrowed time and only because he has a pump for a heart. I'm sure he's reminded of his impending mortality every day of his existence. And by the way he's fought to stay alive, I'm sure death terrifies him. I certainly wouldn't trade places with him no matter how wealthy he is.

He wanted international level power. He wanted this country to be just like the world of Big Brother in the book 1984, and he wanted to be like the Wizard of Oz's little man behind the curtain pulling the strings and booming the big bad ass voice at the population to scare them into thinking he was all powerful. And he failed. The dreams he had to take over are vanishing before his eyes. And because of that I hope he lives for a long time on his prison of a heart pump.

Karma is a bitch.

WTH is he talking about?

From what little snippet of thread did he make this roll of carpet?
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

"America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within."  Stalin

4. Ever see the matrix where the Machine is using unconscious humans for energy? Cheney has one of those set ups in his secret underground lair.
Wrong. I think you got him confused with that idiot, Al Gore.
He uses them to power up his mansions, his jets, his boats, and oh yeah, his SUV's. :fuelfire:

What a complete shit for brains this guy is!

Nigeria? You're kiddin', right? Nigeria?

What crime did he commit? Did he try and pass himself off as royalty and get you to give him your bank account info?

I doubt Nigeria is the kind of country to take seriously about criminal conduct!

What a ****in' idiot!

Assinine, thy definition is "the DUmpster"!

Standing alone, that DU OP just really didn't make a Hell of a lot of sense.  Sounds like Halliburton settled some relatively minor claim with Nigeria so they could get on with business as usual, far as I can tell.

I never did find a link for the story in the thread, but one of the other DUmmies calls out the OP for the source of the story (Whatever it was) not being credible...probably 'The Nigerian E-Mail Scammers On-Line Digest' or something of the sort.

http://blogs.wsj.com/corruption-currents/2010/12/14/reports-say-dick-cheney-may-avoid-prosecution-in-nigeria/

Funny how there is no link to any credible source. This story comes from a blog! If it were remotely true, doncha think we'd be seein' this 24/7 on every left wing MSM network in the world?

I can put up a blog, and sound way more credible, that I had proof Clintoon was ****in' chickens! At least it would be somethin' that made ya go hmmmmmmmmm! Nigeria isn't exactly believable! Hell, corruption, and lyin' like a dog imbeciles, within that country? Say it ain't so!

I'll get on board when Cheney's real enemies start smearin' him across the MSM! You have to admit they sure as hell haven't missed an opportunity yet!

Vice President Cheney would have been a great President had he been given the chance. I still remember how reassuring it was to listen to such a confident, competent leader when Desert Storm started. We were blessed to have men like him and the rest of the Bush 41 team on our side.
