Say what you will, but I have a kid graduating college next spring, and getting a job is a priority over having health insurance for a 21 year old:

and thanks to President Obama, he has health insurance under my husband's policy for the next two years while he's looking for work. Sure, I would have preferred single payer, but until more people see the light, single payer isn't on the table.

It took the DUmmy's kid until he/she was 24 to finish college?  Is it this guy?

The DUmpmonkey may just find a job in 2013 after Obumbler is spanked by a 48 state route.  However, it is a DUchebags kid and the acorn rarely falls far from the DUmbass Oak tree.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

UH, I'm not sure, but isn't that particular clause not effective until 2014?

I'll have to try and wade thru the POS that is ObwanaCare and find it!

Al, the mandatory insurance/penalty stuff is 2014, the 'kids covered until they're 26' goes into effect January 1st.

Good thing, huh DUmmie? He probably won't find a job neither. Have you seen the REAL unemployment number? You can thank the imposter for that one too.

I would say it depends on where you go and what you're studying, but being the child of a DUmmie, I would guess he studied psychology, sociology or political science. I've known a few people that did those in three years, going to summer school. Guess they wanted to start their job at Starbucks quicker...

Of course, I have little room to talk. I'm on the six year program since I changed my major a few times. Including Poli Sci for a couple semesters. :banghead: Started 2008 to be an architect (a six year program anyway) and finally settled on Medical Tech/CLS. I should graduate 2014.  :thatsright:

But at least it's useful. And that's if I don't continue on to PA school.

That's why I threw in the disclaimer at the end.  I know that not everyone is able to follow the traditional model of attending college, and don't begrudge anyone for taking a different path.

God I hope not....remember that the student in the picture became a US Senator. No way in hell do I want the spawn of any DUmbass anywhere near DC and government service.

Belushi became a Senator? When was that? Is my memory failing me that much in my old age? I thought he just ended up in a motel room after an OD of speedballs!

  • Oh snap!
My best friend is finishing law school this week at the age of 24... she will be 25 on Christmas Eve.  So yes, your son was a little "slow" at college if he started right after he finished high school.

She also paid for all of her college by herself.  It was about $900 a class/credit for some of her stuff.  I can't remember which it was.  Either way, it was very expensive and she worked at Gander Mountain to pay for her college.

She posted that in the BOG forum, I don't think people are allowed to post opposing views in that forum, maybe she should've posted in the GD forum to see what the reaction would be.

I know, but this being a DUmmy's kid, I doubt he took a hard degree. No science/math/engineering for the little buttercup. Gotta save the world! So I guess he's a liberal arts grad.

And my own disclaimer: Liberal arts in and of themselves aren't a bad thing. I enjoy philosophy, history and photography. Doesn't mean you can't get a good job and succeed. But you have to apply yourself a lot hard to stand out of the crowd of LibArt graduates that leave the universities each year.

And what I've seen of many liberal arts students these days is they expect to graduate and go into $75,000+/year jobs because they're entitled, damnit! Look at Little Miss Sunshine who spent $100 grand on a Women's Studies degree in New York and now can't cover her loans. Unfortunately our universities have become little better than a continuation of high school. You can actually go to college without being able to read, write, or do math these days. There are remedial classes for that. Seriously? If you can't do those things, our universities shouldn't be open to you. Harsh yes, but the fact is that it's supposed to be hard to get a degree. I guess this is what equality of outcome for all has done to us.

Ah, gotcha! Forgot about that! Thought maybe he was thinkin' of the limp dick from MI, Stewart Smalley, wasn't it! Franken couldn't squeeze the pimples on Belushi's ass! We'd have been a lot better off with Belushi! At least he admitted his faults! Still a libber, though!

And there's the money quote, boys and girls.  DUmmies are more interested in womyn's studies, underwater basket weaving, etc., instead of getting a USEFUL education which will make them more valuable to potential employers.

Had he been more inclined to major in something which would make him employable rather than some bullshit major where he could float a keg every night, he'd have a job waiting for him or find one very soon after graduation, should he have been so motivated.  IOW, you graduated college, DUmmies, but not all educations are equal.  Paying $40K a year to get a $30K a year job is what is commonly referred to as a "poor return on investment."

But no, we're not going to see that--just your usual slacker stoner at age 25, sitting on the couch like in the anti-drug commercial, hitting the bong and saying, "Yeah, ma--I'll look for a job today!"

And the DUmmie cycle continues....
