I seem to recall a story from not too long ago where your beloved Obumbles refused to let the family of a Medal of Honor recipient in because the youngest boy wasn't "properly attired".
Was this the child wearing shorts.???
Back when my kids were young and I worked at a fast food restaurant I got to know the homeless that sneak in to the 24/7 open burger joints bathrooms to stay warm. 5 am I would roust them out and after a few months got to know some with what I thought was very well.
One folowed me home from work, walking distance and on a subzero night pounded on my door looking for warmth.
The person was an old lady with no where to go and she was half dead from the cold.
My kids were stunned and begged me to take her in over night, my youngest even went into the kitchen to make her hot oatmeal. One of the kids gave up her electrec blanket to thaw her out and the son gave up his pillows to her to sleep on.
None of this was my doing, the kids were really upset about a strangers welfare.
Guess we all were either liberal at that time or acting as humans should in a time of Chaos for another.
Next AM the woman was gone, so was out TV, stereo and tapes. She must have had opened the door to her friends after we went to bed to lug that stuff out.
Lesson learned for my children was not a good one. If a 3 year old were to knock on their door wearing diapers in a blizzard they would not open the door they would call the police and watch the child freeze waiting for the cops to arrive.
Lesson learned at a young age for kids----No good deed goes unpunished.
Lesson for me, when doing a good deed cover your ass.
