Chavez invites 25 homeless families to stay at his presidential palace..

This would NEVER happen here...

CARACAS | Mon Nov 29, 2010 10:32am EST

CARACAS (Reuters) - Venezuelan socialist leader Hugo Chavez has invited 25 families made homeless by recent torrential rains to stay temporarily at the Miraflores presidential palace in Caracas.

More than a dozen people have died and thousands have been forced from their houses after weeks of downpours in Venezuela that have caused flooding and mudslides.

Following their president's lead, National Assembly officials said space in parliament could also be temporarily used as a refuge for victims of the rains chaos.
Supporters praise Chavez as the first leader in Venezuela to care for the poor.

1. That is a class act. How fast would any our presidents (D or R) would throw open the White House to just 10 families or 5 families or even 1 family?

2. ... not just presidents, how many congresscritters?

Most of them have gynormous houses/estates, surely they all can spare 3 or 4 rooms?

Or what about our gazillionaires (corporate, media and athletic)? Estates with multiple buildings, or multiple homes in several locations? Sigh.

Praise the dictator as every single Venezuelan has their living standard lowered but at least the rich got theirs.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Isn't it, uh, rather unsocialist for a socialist to live in a mansion that can accommodate 25 families?

El Hugo is doin' this for nothin' more than propaganda! Any bets on where these people are bein' housed? Do ya think they have the run of the mansion?

I guess bein' housed in the stables is better than a tent, though!

What a nice guy! Why didn't he just send in the army to build them their own Mcmansions? Hell, he could take it out of his cocaine bribery account! Wouldn't even have to take control of some "rich" construction company, either!

Yeah, I think it's a perfectly legitimate question.

I already know how Doug's stupid ex-wife would answer it, but am curious as to how the other Yugoistas would answer it.

It's like the left telling us all these years how great socialized medicine is in Cuba YET when Castro needs surgery he goes out of the Country, and the Cuban system is hypocritical, the people don't get treated the same as the higher ups in the Cuban Government, there's no equality at all.

How many families could Cal Peg alone accomodate?

And why does Undergroundkittycat rent to the abyssmal line of roommates it has to fill its mother's long abandoned (one of at least two) abodes? shouldn't the subway kitty be swinging the doors open to the downtrodden of Baltimore? What skin is it off of its back to extend charity instead of filling its pockets with its tattoo and piercing money for the month?

The few DUmpmonkeys who are self-supporting want nothing to do with their smelly, vermin-infested democrat brethern. You may recall a few years ago, maybe during the democrat convention, a bunch of DUmbasses had a "meet up" at a Denny's or Golden Corral, or some such restaurant in Denver. At least eight or ten squirrelly, weird-looking misfits got together to have dinner and trade obscene rants about President Bush. Well, they were in Denver, but did they invite Bobo the Hobo, the best known DUmmy in the state of Colorado?? Despite numerous appeals from people here to bring DUmmy bobbolink in from the mean streets for at least one night of warmth and cooked food, they didn't invite her or even acknowledge her existence. So while these DUmbasses were enjoying their boiled free range chicken, trading curses and clever insults against the Bush family, DUmmy bobbolink, perhaps only a few blocks away, gummed away at the fruits of an evening's dumpster scrounging, perusing the DUmp on her iPhone, and muttering to herself in the back seat of her '86 Buick. DUmmies are only interested in cybercharity, not the real thing.

I seem to recall a DUmmie sending her kids down to Denver from Boulder, I think it was, to give Bobo a hand, and she lit in to them with both barrels! Bobo the Hobo wants no help! She wants sympathy and pity.

They had quite a row between them, ending up with the good Samaritan tellin' her to take a flyin' ****! Turns out she wanted no "outside" help and if they really wanted to help, donate anonymously.

It really exposed Bobo for the charlatan she is, and is more than likely the reason she never gets invited to so much as a TP party to throw rolls of the stuff all over the local Repub precinct headquarters!

Not just them. There were a few cities the Dems were going to have a convention at. One was NYCity, another was in California somewhere, I dont remember where atm. Anyways they shipped or bussed all the homeless out of their cities in preparartion for the conventions (and the cameras of course).

This behavior is nothing new for these hypocrites.

25 families.

Bravo

Even if he wasn't directly responsible for them being homeless in the first place he still shouldn't get any praise - 25 families out of how many hundred thousand ? What crap.

I seem to recall a story from not too long ago where your beloved Obumbles refused to let the family of a Medal of Honor recipient in because the youngest boy wasn't "properly attired".

Was this the child wearing shorts.???

Back when my kids were young and I worked at a fast food restaurant I got to know the homeless that sneak in to the 24/7 open burger joints bathrooms to stay warm.   5 am I would roust them out and after a few months got to know some with what I thought was very well.

One  folowed me home from work, walking distance and on a subzero night pounded on my door looking for warmth.

The person was an old lady with no where to go and she was half dead from the cold.

My kids were stunned and begged me to take her in over night, my youngest even went into the kitchen to make her hot oatmeal.  One of the kids gave up her electrec blanket to thaw her out and the son gave up his pillows to her to sleep on.

None of this was my doing, the kids were really upset about a strangers welfare.

Guess we all were either liberal at that time or acting as humans should in a time of Chaos for another.

Next AM the woman was gone, so was out TV, stereo and tapes.  She must have had opened the door to her friends after we went to bed to lug that stuff out.

Lesson learned for my children was not a good one.  If a 3 year old were to knock on their door wearing diapers in a blizzard they would not open the door they would call the police and watch the child freeze waiting for the cops to arrive.

Lesson learned at a young age for kids----No good deed goes unpunished.

Lesson for me, when doing a good deed cover your ass.

UP is right.

Have you seen how little the Obamas and Bidens have given to charity? Compare that to Republicans/conservatives, and you have some idea of the liberal idea of altruism.
