Why does everyone think it is their right to tell a woman how to mother her children?
I bet if the picture was of a man doing something fatherly with his kids, no one would say a word about it. But because it's a woman and breastfeeding, everyone wants to butt into their business when there are far more critical parenting situations out there, such as neglect. I work in a school district and see it every day. I wish we had more moms like the one who is breastfeeding her six year old.

When the "child" is old enough to unhook mom's bra with a finger and thumb, it's time to shut off the tap.

Sounds about right.  Also, within that thread someone mentioned TEETH! I would think that would stop the Mom's desire to continue, I would think.   :whistling:

6. Since you are so enlightened as to the correct age a child should cease breast-feeding...

please share. Is it one year old? Six months? Two years? What if the child cannot tolerate most foods by six? Personally I think it is up to the health of the child, the culture s/he is growing up in, etc. I don't know why people are so opinionated over this issue. If the sight offends you then turn away; otherwise, live and let live.
What a creepy thread.

Can't tolerate most foods by age six?

C'mon now.... my daughter will eat anything under the sun (except some fruits) and she's 18 months old.  It's not that breastfeeding offends me.  It doesn't.  But if I saw a child who is in elementary school still being breastfed, I would find that disturbing.

What culture has six year old children being breastfed?

Maybe it is just me or does the mother in this story sound like one taco short of a combo meal? Can you imagine the size/shape her breasts are in? I did it for a short time with both of my kids and my are not the same I can't imagine 6 years of it!

I saw this the other day.

Here is the (Fox News) story.

And the original (MailOnline). (more details)

Every mom/ baby situation is different. But advocates of breastfeeding need to distance themselves from this freak show. This child has teeth, can chew and digest any food and there is no reason for this. This woman is the outlier. The one that gets some measure of self gratification through this activity. Nobody can defend that. Some psychiatrist will make a mint off this kid. Future whack-job being nursed by present whack-job. In my opinion.

Stalin's girlfriend Hannah was all over the one of the threads regarding the breastfeeding schoolboy.  Apparently she knows several women who do this. Probably some commie collective of wet nurses.

That reminds me - I haven't voted for DUmbass of the 2010. So many choices.

I see it as a typical libtard showing her school age child the way of her world!
"Liberalism is an essentially feminine, submissive world view. Perhaps a better adjective than feminine is infantile. It is the world view of men who do not have the moral toughness, the spiritual strength to stand up and do single combat with life, who cannot adjust to the reality that the world is not a huge, pink-and-blue, padded nursery in which the lions lie down with the lambs and everyone lives happily ever after."

What's the problem...I was a bottle baby and I must have 15/16 before I even stated breastfeeding..... :-)

Yeah, I get the picture. Off mom's tit, on to the government tit.

I think a 6 year old breastfeeding is gross and the Mother has a problem, and even though I'm a woman I think breastfeeding is a private thing, I don't want to see a woman just whip out her boobs in public, if you can be discreet? fine, if you want to be blatant? not fine.

But aren't DUmpmonkeys all about having the government tell one how to live their every minute?
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

YES, unless what the government (ie. Republican controlled government) tells them to do something they don't want to do, like GET A JOB!
