House Democrats Vote to Oppose Tax Cut Plan in Current Form

House Democrats have voted to block President Obama's controversial tax cut plan from coming to the floor in its current form, a move one Democratic leadership aide said "shows how much the White House screwed this up."

Though the vote was not binding, the House Democratic caucus on Thursday approved a measure by Rep. Peter DeFazio, D-Ore., effectively rejecting the GOP-negotiated deal unless and until a majority of Democrats support it.

"If it's take it or leave it, we'll leave it," said Rep. Lloyd Doggett, D-Texas, adding that he thinks House Speaker Nancy Pelosi will take her cue from the caucus.

The resolution specifically stated that the tax package "should not come to the House floor for consideration."

I think that what we're seeing is that Teh Obamessiah is telling the Dems, "I want another term," and he's throwing them under the bus.  They still haven't digested the message that the American voting populace sent them on November 2nd.

You know, in all honesty, I don't think Teh Wun really wants the gig for another term. It's hard work being president - and while we all joke about his constant vacations, the fact is, the gig is not easy. And Obama is lazy - even his closest associates have said so.

I sure as hell wouldn't want the job.

That said, I do think that between Khalidi, Bill Ayers, Jodie Evans, and especially Me-shell, they collectively drive Teh Wun into manning up and do what's necessary to keep the socialism alive in the White Mosque. Me-shell LOVES the White Mosque and has been pushing her husband toward eating the necessary crow and bowing to reality.

The more knots Congress can tie itself into for the rest of this month, the better.  I'm willing to wait for a retroactive tax fix.

That story I saw yesterday about some pollsters thinking the Dems could take back the House in 2012?  Not at this rate.

There is no way after this. the DREAM act and  trying to repeal DADT they are going to regain control of anything except a return ticket home. The country is in dire need of fixes and the DEMS are pushing the wrong agaenda no thatnks to Reid, Pelosi and all the rest .

although this decision to let EVERYONE'S taxes go up is a close second.  Seriously, they just handed every candidate in '12 a perfect campaign ad: "Do you remember January of last year, when your taxes went up, unemployment went up, take home pay went down, and even after you were dead, the government wanted to take over half your wealth?  Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats could have prevented it, and CHOSE to do nothing.  Make sure you remind them of that fact at the voting booth."
