Don't laugh. There was the lady who was on her riding mower when she rolled it, and it rolled on her.
Then there was the gent up here about a year ago doing some work on a tree when the chainsaw kicked back on him.
Not pretty.
In this part of Missouri, the clay content in the soil is off the charts. It's so bad that septic systems don't really work since the clay won't readily disperse the "stuff" in the system.
Well, when you live out in the boonies like I do, that means that you've got a "lagoon" dug on your property into which your household sewage flows. That's right - sewage, and anything of a liquid and semi-solid nature that you put down your drain.
In essence you've got a small pond on your property that is designed to break this stuff down. The experts tell you to keep the edges of this pond largely free of leafy matter/trees, cattails, etc.
There have been more than a few instances where good ol' Bob was out there riding his mower around trimming up the area around his lagoon. He catches a wheel on the embankment and in the lagoon he goes, with the mower on top of him.
That's gotta be a helluva way to die - immersed in shit.
