But despite the impressive feat of getting slim and trim and svelte after weighing more than a quarter of a ton, the gigantic primitive's work's only just begun, and we all need to encourage him in the unfinished stuff.

Two things to be thankful for -- my loving wife and my 55% progress to weight goal!
   
Previous thread I posted in this forum back in March when I was closing in on 35%:

This is a couple of days late, but I meant for it to be posted on Thanksgiving day.

I'm now at 343, which is my lowest weight since 2001. I'm hoping to get under 300 by my birthday in March of 2011, whereupon I'll be at my lightest weight in 20 years. My eventual goal will be somewhere around 200.

I'm feeling pretty good, and I'm amazed that I'm able to keep this up in the face of a lot of stressful situations we have going on in our lives right now. First and foremost among those is the fact that my wife is going through a complete nightmare trying to get a copy of her birth certificate, and until she has it she can't get a State ID card, can't even apply for work, and is basically an "unperson." There's a lot more, but I'm not going to get into it here. I've been forced to curtail what I say here, as well as on the McDougall website due to some The assholes over at the "cave" (website full of little cretinous little petty-ass cyber-bullies who love to stalk DU'ers) don't need any more ammo at this time.

I never would have come this far without the help of Dr. McDougall and his advocacy of a starchy, plant-based diet. I continue to eat well, considering that we're in the poor house, and rarely stray from the plan.

Once I hit 300, I'll post some "before" and "during" photos here. I still have a way to go, but I'm a very different person now than I was at 519!

Now, that's disgraceful, utterly disgusting.

Only one primitive bothered to congratulate the gigantic primitive.

I'll bet he gets more congratulations over here, from us, than he does from all the primitives on Skins's island.

That says something about us, and about the primitives.

Even if it is a DUmmy it is nice to see a person take their life back and maybe in the process will see that always wailing about how unfair life is doesn`t do any good.

That is why maybe his fellow primitives don`t care now...he is doing something for himself and they believe that is either impossible or not supposed to be.

They shun success of any kind.

You know, even if he does consider us cretinous stalkers, I think he has done a very good job.  I'm glad he found a system that has worked for him, and I hope he continues to improve his health.   :cheersmate:

In case you're not familiar with the case, madam, for the longest time the gigantic primitive was on a plateau, about a quarter of a ton.  He then left Skins's island for what he thought might be greener shores, that MacDougall site.  But alas there too the gigantic primitive remained on a plateau.

Several months later, decent and civilized people found him in his new digs, and prodded him with advice, encouragement, good wishes, after which the gigantic primitive finally at long last slid off that plateau.

I was sort of halfway vaguely somewhat thinking about giving the gigantic primitive a special award this year, given that he demonstrates the wisdom of listening to decent and civilized people, but I changed my mind.

You know, lars, sir, I recall that once the gigantic primitive addressed that issue, but it was so long ago I've disremembered his excuse.

I suspect, however, that because the gigantic primitive's been on our dime for quite a while now, perhaps his free medical care decided it wasn't a good idea, or decided it wasn't worth the money.

The deal is, the gigantic primitive never needed his stomach stapled shut; he needed his jaws stapled shut.

My husband's employee had that procedure done a few years ago, and he's still very large and eats a whole pizza (like a large form Pizza Hut) to himself.  Then he gets really mad at my husband because he's fit and able to move around much faster.

Those stomach staples are only good for those who actually intend to use it as a "starting point" to lose weight.  If you still scarf down the food, then there's no point in wasting the money.

Yeah, it worked, and so that's all good.
