A couple of questions about the federal employee pay freeze . . . .
How many Obama appointees make more than $150K? Will they see a freeze . . . or better yet, a pay cut?

The radio today said this freeze will save a whopping $3B this year and $28B over the next ten years.

The next ten years?????? I thought this was a two year freeze.

Obama froze his staff members pay last year...as for his appointees, if they're part of the Executive branch, their pay will be frozen if this passes in Congress.

As for the second question, and this is where the stupid REALLY hurts...if you freeze pay for two years, then all subsequent COLAs will be based on a lower wage, thus lowering the cost of the raises relative to what they would have been absent the freeze.

He's such a weenus.

I'm a federal employee (non-union), and I'm not really upset about this, but I would like to see it hit ALL federal employees, including postal, Congressional staff and judicial branch and their staff.

Then start the real cuts - eliminate the Department of Education, for starters.

Same here, the pay freeze is a 'so-what,' though the hanging renewal of Bush tax rates, and a couple of other 'revenue generating' proposals are a lot more serious concerns.  I'd say I agree with you 100%, but I don't know but what there might possibly be something the D-of-Ed does that might be worth keeping part of it around to work..not that I'm saying there definitely is, either.
