She tells the mail man her mother was a teacher in a black school, and she is not prejudiced against the driver because he is black, but then goes on to say HIS people are all thieves and makes some mention to, if I heard this correctally. black woman marrying white males.
Lots of issues that have nothing to do with the mail driver, LORD she actually slaps him.
Talk about the death of the bringer of bad news. A person outside her family, just a stranger, the mailman..
My heart goes out to the mail Carrier, but I also do not know why he did not just drive off when the woman began to become aggressive.
Sad that this woman had all that pent up aggression and even sadder that she will have to face this act for the rest of her life.
What would have happend had the mailman been a woman or Polish ----most likely the same thing.
It is said and I do believe it that in the South or elsewhere in this country people are open and above board about their prejudiced lives.------In the north people hide their predigest and when they come into the open everyone is shocked.
A fact of life, no matter where we go in the world, someone is not going to like us, skin color, accent, color of eyes, sex or our heritage, religion, or the color of our clothing.
This may be why we need have no fear of one world Government--- Until we can get together and rid ourselves of preconceived ideas on others, Woe be all of us that find we are somehow different from others.
This woman needs help, not to change her ideas, but to controll her anger at the people that deliver bad news.
