I fly every other week on business and I a black American am pulled out quite often. Yes, obviously I observe whites being pulled out of line.
Now if you step back the original statement is talking about the Repugs/Teabaggers not you. There is a group of people in this country who believe they are above these searches, above being targeted. This group of people hate minorities of any persuasion and think all are criminals. They have a sick mentality. This is not all whites this is that 23%.
Back in 2003 or 2004 we flew to CA (from DFW). Because we used my husbands FF miles we had to split up taking two planes. My husband took my older daughter and I took my son and younger daughter with me. After we were seated they came over the speaker and called my name. I came to the front of the plane and they told me my suitcase had a problem and I had to get off the plane and watch them search my suitcase.
I got off and it was taking longer than they thought so I had to go back on the plane and get my kids. We missed the flight. They determined it was my deodorant and made me leave it behind. They arranged for a later flight (first class) and my husband had to wait with my oldest daughter at the airport in CA until we got there.
I didn't complain, I didn't feel I was above it, I thanked them for giving us first class seat and took my kids to the chili's inside the airport to wait for our next flight. I would however be pissed if my 17 year old daughter had to go through the xray thing or an extensive pat down. I would most likely set off a search from the xray machine because of the three stents in my neck. I'm not looking forward to my next flight.
