To be fair to the DUmmies, not all of the thread was filled with seething rage and hate.  About 20% were snarky.  The others just wished for everyone to make nice.

Years ago I bowed to the "Happy Holidays" or "Seasons Greetings" crowd. Now I go out of my way to say "Merry Christmas" and have never had anyone say anything nasty back to me. Of course, I'm not a leftist beta male and it shows.
