We had 8 at my in-laws, including my Obama-loving SIL.  Well, she loved him then, anyway.  Now, she can't wait to vote his sorry ass out of office.  We did talk politics, but it was all anti-Dem.

Chase her.
Chase her even when she's yours.
That's the only way you'll be assured to never lose her.

We had 31.  Nary a whiff of politics in the air.  Wedding dates were announced, babies were cooed over (they did not scream and wail, thank you, God).  The resident DUmmy in the family got into some sort of trouble, but was not mentioned and was not there.  That provided an undercurrent of drama.  I think it involved a car crash and booze.  and some other stuff.

Great story, R4R.
