WASHINGTON -- The maker of the painkiller Darvon is pulling the drug off the market at the request of public health officials who say the more than 50-year-old pill causes potentially deadly heart rhythms.
Well so much for the gubermint giving the elderly pain pills to ease pain when they stop giving them treatment. :bird:

Back in 72, I broke my left arm pretty badly. After three days of my arm hanging  by an IV stand, the swelling had gone down enough to do surgery. After surgery, I was puking and puking..... finally, I was coherent enough to say that it happened shortly after they gave me Darvon. They quit giving me Darvon and the puking went away. I'm kind of glad that I've always had a bad reaction to that stuff after finding this out.
