Why do we need airport screening at all?
   
I get on buses and trains all the time and nobody scans or gropes me or checks my luggage. I don't really understand why planes are so special.

You can get off a bus if someone in there is making you nervous. And you might survive a ground attack, but you're not surviving anything at 33,000 ft.

It's simple really. 

The liberal mind thrives on questioning any sort of "mainstream" or popular thought...because they think it is a trait of intelligent and enlightened people. 

Since most "average" people know that planes present far greater risk of terrorism or capability to inflict great harm, the elitist brain is awarded the opportunity to stroke its ego and challenge popular thought by posing a question that differs from the sentiment of the masses.

And no doubt since the OP is a member of DU, he/she/it considers itself to be enlightened.

nawww Mythbusters busted that one years ago. Multiple shots under pressure won't cause an explosive decompression. The only fatality ever recorded from one was when the roof ripped off of the Aloha jet that one time and the flight attendant standing in that section went with the roof.
