Personally anything that will keep us safe I am all for it

I would be, too, but the way they handle screening it isn't doing anything to make us safer.  They would rather strip search a couple of nuns than even glance at Abdul walking through with his suicide vest worn on the outside of his coat.

Exactly my point.  Exactly.   :cheersmate:

Yes, but the TSA is total Security Theater bowing to the great good Political Correctness.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

I will not fly.  If I need to go somewhere, I'm jumping in the car.

That's what we will be doing from now on.  It will take a bit longer to get to family, but I'd rather do that than pay $600+ (not including bag fees) and then deal with the possibility of my family & I being groped by TSA.

It's cheaper to drive back then it is to fly.

Even if it takes away your rights?

You do realize you're being treated like a criminal, right?  You're being felt up by some total stranger.  You wouldn't allow that kind of behavior if you were at the mall, correct?

If I had to be felt up to guarantee my safety, yeah, I would.  My issue is that the TSA is a f-ing superficial farce, and it's just more feel good pretty crap rather than actually insuring my safety.

If everyone is treated the same, no one is being treated as a criminal.  I don't have to pass a security screen at the mall.

The fact of the matter shouldn't be the screen, only that it is an across the board, effective screen.  That, we all know is NOT the case, and that is where our concern should lay.

If this country's pc leadership class had a few more cojones like my governor, we could solve the whole screening process by profiling suspicious characters.  El Al doesn't pat people down, but their security is awesome and based on profiling, GASP, people likely to blow up an airplane, not some hapless wheelchair bound blue haired lady or a 3-year old baby.
Sneaking into a country doesn't make you an immigrant any
more than breaking into someone's house makes you part of the family.

What if terrorist attacks started happening at malls and we had some new branch of TSA at the front doors of malls?

Let's calling them Shopping Security Administration or whatever you want... but the SSA was run by the current mall cops and they were allowed to use full body scans and to "frisk" you, would that make anyone feel comfortable?

This whole subject makes me cranky.

I'll enjoy driving from here on out.  No more sitting in those tiny seats, squished up to someone who smells like they haven't bathed in four days.

Most people seem "okay" with this... just wait until it actually happens to you or one of your children.  There is no need for a government worker to grab your crotch.

That's a really, really dangerous standard.

God never changes.
Patience attains all that it strives for.

God alone suffices.

Oh, I so totally hear you.  My point was more that these processes will be just as ineffective as the ban on liquid.  We need to profile.  We will suffer tremendously from the government's PC.
