4. Seriously.
These nitwits think that these things exist in a vacuum and have no effect on anything else. Couldn't reason their way out of wet toilet paper.

5. They crashed and burned last time. We're ready to help them trip into a ditch if they try again

Sounds like a dare to me.

I think they're just terrified that the GOP is TEA Party infused enough to seriously reduce deficits and by so doing undermine what little of liberal credibility remains.

Dear Lurkers,

Voters aren't stupid. They remember how Obama ran on a platform of deficit control then blew the deficit to an additional $1 trillion/year. Raging and fuming like it never happened won't save you.
According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."

I honestly don't know if my taxpayer subsidized job would be affected or not.  I don't care, either.  The way I do the budget and the way my wife does groceries-- well, we didn't learn it from Uncle Sugar.  If he stops paying, we just dig into the surplus.

I would welcome a shutdown.  Everytime they recess or go on vacation, I breathe a little easier.

The very idea of gov't having to do without is the worse thing that could ever happen on earth.  Living your whole life dependent on something else to ensure your survival, especially when you are able-bodied to do it yourself with a minimum amount of effort, is so shortsighted and immature.  What a sad existance the primitives have.

Rats.

From the title of the thread, I was hoping, really badly, it was another one of those campfires where the primitives discover conservativecave exists.

I would love to see the government shut down and stay shutdown across a welfare check delivery day.  It might actually wake a few of the welfare freeloaders up.

The longer the government shutdown lasts, the less chance they have of ****ing things up even more.

Works for me.

Won't bother me either. Unlike the apes on Skinners Island of Misfits I don't need a Government check to get by. My mother doesn't either she has more then enough to get by and it won't affect her for a long time.

Hey DUmmie FarLeftFist, not that Gingrich picked wisely in that previous fight, but the last shutdown had no effect on the world economy, the military got paid through the shutdown, and all the executive branch employees idled by the Congressional inaction did get paid for the time (To actually fire or furlough/lay off people without pay, there is a minimum legal notice period, and a legislative-executive deadlock is never going to last long enough to bridge that minimum).

In other words, you are an idiot.

We don't call them DUmmys for nothing.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.
