Okay, I went to that bonfire.
It seems the bi primitive is having some heavy personal issues, and so it's natural to seek answers.
I am however intrigued by this primitive notion that religion without God can do something for one.
What is it about the primitives, who find it so difficult to acknowledge God?
I don't know, but a couple of things, maybe: The Bible gives one a moral compass and DUmmies spend their lives trying to remain rebellious teenagers. How can one do whatever one wants if there are actually rules? Which brings me to my second thought: Because they remain petulant children, they have a need to mock and run from that which they don't understand. Certainly they try to convince themselves it's because they're smarter, more informed, etc. But, if that were true they wouldn't embrace each new cause with Evangelical zeal.
When I was younger it was global cooling and that ominous hole in the ozone...stop using spray deodorant!!! (I think some of them have yet to realize deodorant also comes in a roll on). Save the rain forest or there won't be any oxygen to breath or natives we can wistfully admire. Evidently, it's okay for indigenous peoples to cut down trees to plant coffee beans but not to sell to lumber companies. Now we're in the midst of their global warming (oops...make that global climate change) hysteria. This time we all have to change our light bulbs. These ones are SO dangerous that if they break and you have small children or a pregnant woman in the house they MUST leave the room. It's even suggested to cut out that portion of the carpet, if possible. Hopefully, we don't have a planet full of klutzes because if we dropped our "new and improved" light bulbs we could really screw up the planet. Oh, well maybe Algore will have enough carbon credits for sale for us to fix it before we die from toxic fumes. Those who believe in nothing will fall for anything.
