I guess they are very confident in his abilities as a pocket passer. The coaching that will need to be done for him to ignore his breakdown instincts and his footwork mechanics will take a team of QB coaches working around the clock.

at the moment, he is getting more than a million dollars for every point in his dismal QB rating. 

and "washed up", former third string, parolee mike vick is outplaying him by several orders of magnitude.

it will be a debacle.  once he no longer has the athleticism to play the game on his own terms (artfully leaving unsaid whether that day has come and gone or not), messing around with his mechanics would just screw him up worse.
