Clinton praises Bush's new memoir Former president Bill Clinton praised George W. Bush's new memoir, calling it "well-written and interesting" in a statement released today, the Associated Press reports.Clinton said Decision Points, which came out Tuesday, was a book that would help other Democrats understand why he liked Bush. The memoir sold 220,000 copies in its first day on sale.Almost two years after leaving office, Bush listed mistakes during his presidency in the new book, including not acting fast enough after Hurricane Katrina in 2005, and drawing down troops quickly in Iraq. He also has mentioned his desire to stay under the radar once the promotional tour is over."I have peace in my heart, I truly do, and I have zero desire to try to battle for reputation," Bush told USA TODAY.As far as America's perception of Bush, it hasn't changed dramatically. A recent USA TODAY/Gallup Poll found that 44% view him favorably and 53% have unfavorable opinions. Before Bush left office, 40% had a favorable view; 59% viewed him unfavorably.More
