Big Riot in Central London
« on: November 10, 2010, 10:44:05 AM »
Fox News has been covering it this morning. Students protesting higher tuition fees.  They're reporting that people have been bussed in from other countries. (Soros funding?)

Some videos at this page (I'm pretty sure this will play worldwide) http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newsvideo/8123809/The-moment-students-smashed-their-way-into-Conservative-HQ.html

Quote
Organisers of a student protest over a planned rise in university fees have told Sky News their cause has been "undermined" after the demonstration erupted into violence.
Riot police have been drafted in after protesters smashed their way into Millbank Tower - the headquarters of the Conservative Party - in central London and occupied the roof.

As many as 50,000 students from across the UK travelled to the capital for the rally, which was arranged by the National Union of Students (NUS) and University and College Union (UCU).

However, NUS president Aaron Porter has branded those responsible an "utter disgrace".

He told Sky News that some people - "possibly anarchists" - had "deliberately come to hijack the event".

"Perhaps 500 or more have chosen to use disgraceful tactics to try to undermine us," he added.  ...

Is this riot diminishing, maintaining or escalating in intensity and scope? Couldn't really get a bead on that from the video and article.

Riot seems to have died down and there's now a sit in protest in Parliament Square. We know that none of them were geography students since they attacked the building next door to Conservative Party HQ instead of their intended target.

Hilarious that Kay Burley on Sky News keeps saying Millbank Tower is the headquarters of the Conservative Party. She's just as deluded as the protesters. The Tories moved out of the main tower after the general election. Their offices are next door at 30 Millbank, next to the Pizza Express.

Clearly not many of these protesters are geography students...

UPDATE: Kay Burley on Sky is not having a good afternoon. She has just said that protesters are on the roof of Millbank Tower. They are not. They are on the top of 30 Millbank. She's also saying that Mi5, "across the river" has shut its entrance. Er, that would be Mi5 next door to 30 Millbank. Mi6 is across the river, not Mi5. Dear oh dear.
