I saw the first Saw because I love scary movies. Kinda creeped me out, but after watching the second, I decided not to see any more of them.

Hostel was terrible. It was pure torture. Literally. Now maybe the Saw movies went as far as that one did after the second one, but the premise for Hostel was people who get off on watching others be tortured. I guess Saw was the same, but it was just this one dude who was pyscho. In Hostel, people paid to watch these innocent Hotel stayers be tortured. I couldn't hardly finish it, and most of it was with closed eyes. But, it isn't real, and I don't think those that enjoy those movies actually like people to be tortured. I don't know why they like them. Maybe the fear it gives them. That is kinda why I watch scary movies. I like to be scared (in that way). Still, as I said much earlier in this thread, torture movies aren't my thing.

Pretty much anything made after 1997.  I knew movies were recycled crap when I saw an ORIGINAL movie with a great plot (LA Confidential) lose the Best Picture Oscar to an overhyped, overdone, melodramatic CGI-laden piece of celluloidal horseshit.

My most favorite classic movies are Auntie Mame ( you HAVE to see it, the Rosalind Russel one..not Lucile Ball) and My Fair Lady.

Have not seen a lot of the recent "popular" movies - Avatar, Harry Potter, Twilight, and I don't watch movies like Saw or any of those....


When I was a kid, The Wizard of Oz was on every Thanksgiving evening.

Gone With the Wind was wonderful.
I took History of Film in college as an elective - one night a week for 2.5 hours. We watched Citizen Kane for 3 WEEKS.... :banghead:

Love old classic WWII movies.

I remember watching to Wizard of Oz every year. I would take a bath, get my PJ's on and my mom would let us sit in front of the TV and eat dinner. Good memories.

I watched "What Ever Happened To Baby Jane" for the first time the other day. The acting was terrible but I couldn't stop watching it.
