I actually saw that one. I didn't think I'd like it, but I did. It wasn't as spectacular as everyone said, but it was visually beautiful. My 2 year old watched the entire movie.

I heard there will be a 2nd and 3rd.

I've never seen either of those.  I haven't seen Citizen Kane either.

Me either.

My husband and I have made it our mission to watch many old classics. We so far have only seen Casablanca and Vertigo. Both left me just blah. I think it is a time thing. Had I seen them years ago, maybe I could appreciate them. Same for Easy Rider. I think I either needed to be stoned or living in that era.

I liked the first 3 Star Wars (or the last ones) that were out when I was little. Now, with the new ones, I just can't get into them. I watched the first of the prequal when it came out, and I was underwhelmed.

There are several 'classic' movies I've tried and just couldn't force myself to sit through.  I can't think of any I haven't actually seen.

The thing with a lot of classics, at least IMO, is that they represent a certain time. Casablanca I heard was phenomenal. Well my hubby and I watched, and I did realize how many sayings come from that movie, but I thought "this is what the big fuss is over". But, that's how it goes. My mom told me to watch One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, and I did love that one, and that one isn't as old as Casablanca obviously.

I thought I'd love Vertigo since I love Hitchcock, but again, it was very underwhelming for me.

Let me specify: I loved Hitchcock Presents when I was young. It came on Nick at Nite. I haven't seen many of his films.

Black and white movies bore me to death.  Not that I enjoy modern fast-paced movies with scenes that cut in and out so fast you can't see anything, but b&w is just dull, dull, dull.

Same here. I'm not that interested in Avatar, but I've always wanted to see all of Casablanca. Never sat through all of it. LOVE old black and white movies!!!!! (One of my favs was Grapes of Wrath)

I've seen all of those, and the only ones I recommend are the Bourne movies. They're quite good. I don't think I want to see the new one coming out that doesn't have Matt Damon in it though.

And I still feel guilty for thinking Jesus was hot. I mean seriously, Jim Cavezal (sp???) is hot, and I felt bad about it, but I didn't think it a lot through the movie, there were some moments though... He did an excellent job.

Have you ever seen Glengarry Glen Ross????? HORRIBLE! It as so many greats in it, I bought it without hearing a word about it. Al Pacino, Ed Harris, Jack Lemmon, Alec Baldwin, Kevin Spacey (MY FAVE), Alan Arkin..... TERRIBLE!! But everyone I talk to that has seen it has loved it. It must be me.
