Let people decide what they want to eat. And really how fair is it to a kid if he wants a cheeseburger and fries but can't get a toy? STUPID!

I hear McDonald's is now going to be selling a crappy toy for $2.99, but they'll give you a free "Kid's Meal" with the toy.  ;D

Let people decide what they want to eat.
They already tried that.  The people weren't making the choices the government wanted them to, so the government has decided to take that choice away from them.

Messing with kid's?
Living on the shit is one thing but I see nothing wrong with kids having a happy meal here and there.  As long as they are active they will be fine.  Truth is they will just order an adult meal and get more calories anyway!

When I was a kid, going to McDonald's was as rare as snow on Christmas.  Who has money to eat Happy Meals every week?

This is just more meddling idiocy from people who have too much power and not enough sense to use it judiciously (or not at all).

It was a treat for us when we were little. I know in today's world it is a lot more common to pick them up for the kiddos because it is convenient, and moms and dads are usually on the go with all the stuff they have to do with and for the kids. Still, it is up to the parents as to what their kids eat. Hopefully they make good choices. But all I see this is as is being way too controlling over what we can and can't eat, and being mean to the kids who want a damned cheeseburger and fries.

What's next? The adults who order the Big Mac can't play the stupid Monopoly game?

My kid is just now at the age where she can eat these happy meals, etc. I actually go to Dairy Queen when we are in a big rush and I won't be home to fix her her normal food. I can get a grilled cheese there, and that seems a little healthier to me.  Still, it is up to me as to what she eats. I think I make good choices 99% of the time, but I will not deprive her of some unhealthy stuff every now and then. It is not the norm, and I consider it a treat for her. But I would demand a damned toy in the happy meal. Thankfully, I don't see my town going that route EVER.

My average order at McD's is usually around eight or nine dollars and that is just for me.  I can spend half that and get more food just by buying TV dinners.  TV dinners are cheaper and probably healthier than what comes out of DQ and McDonald's.

Shameless plug: Hungry Man has really stepped up their game, and I picked up a basket-load of them at a dollar off (each) last week.  ;D

Fast food has really gone up. For a few extra dollars, my husband and I could eat at a real restaurant for the 2 combo meals we'd get at a lot of fast food places. Kids meals are still fairly cheap. I think anyway. I always think it is crazy when I do get the grilled cheese combo at Dairy Queen that it is over $4. It is 2 pieces of bread and a piece of cheese!!!????!!! I get the milk and fries (sometimes) or apples with it. Doesn't seem like almost $5 worth of stuff.

I got a burger (1 burger and that was it) at Backyard Burger not too long ago. It was over $6. No drink, no fries.

Good ol' San Fran--where you can smoke a cock, but not a Marlboro.  Where guys can eat dick, but not a cheeseburger.

Remind me why I have no desire to ever step foot in CA again?

OK...It's full of queers, left hand cigarette smoke and you can't get anything fit to eat there.
