Rev. Wright appears in Chicago; Clinton vows to fight on

• CBS2 in Chicago -- Rev. Wright appears at Chicago Catholic church: "The Rev. Jeremiah Wright made a surprise appearance in Chicago Friday night. Wright, Sen. Barack Obama's former pastor appeared at Saint Sabina church to hear famed African American poet Maya Angelou speak." According to CBS2, he "received a thunderous welcome" and "just as suddenly as he appeared Friday night, Wright was invited to speak, and he did. ... Wright did not mention Obama, or the tapes that won't go away. He simply gave the benediction, received another round of thunderous applause. ... After he spoke, Wright went to an office off the pulpit, where dozens of people lined up to greet him." CBS2 has a video report here. Wright has not publicly addressed the controversy over sermons he's given in the past, including one in which he suggested blacks should sing "God damn America" instead of "God bless America." Obama, while saying he could not disown Wright, has condemned the reverend's words.

I am sure that he was rushed back to his undisclosed location after this. :whatever:

Medved was all over this Wright thing last week still.. apparently Obama was taped saying, "if Reverand Wright had NOT apologized, then people could still take issue with his words. But he has, and I think its time to move forward."

So, when did Wright apologize?? I'd think that would be all over the place cause the Obama supporters in the press would be heralding it as 'the end' of the Rev-gate episode.

What, no "G** ***n America!"  No evil whites this, evil whites that?  No message of love and unity that only comes about when you curse people as Nazis?  Huh.  If I were in the audience, I'd ask for a refund.  What a rip-off!  I bet it wasn't even Rev. Wright, just some poorly disguised body double.   :whatever:

if he apologized, I missed it.  and since when was an apology sufficient for this sort of thing?  imus apologized, and he still got canned.

Even hussin apologizing for his wasn't an apology. To say "I know what he said was offensive and for that I am sorry" is NOT an apology -- it is merely acknowledging a fact.  And you can''t apologize for someone else.

Well, when mr "white greed is killing this country" settles into his $1.6 million home maybe he can spend a few minutes to formulate a Barry Bonds style "apology."
