poll: do we affect the primitives?
« on: October 24, 2010, 09:39:53 PM »
I'm some weeks late in getting up my four-times-yearly poll on the effectiveness of the DUmpster, when it comes to needling and tormenting the primitives on Skins's island.

Does one suspect the primitives pay any attention to us?

I think maybe a little tiny bit--after nearly three years of the DUmpster, I myself can boast of three readers from Skins's island--Pedro Picasso (the "Atman" primitive), the sparkling husband primitive (the "Stinky the Clown" primitive), and one primitive whose name I don't recall at the moment; it was an obscure unterprimitiven who mentioned me by name some time ago.

But outside of those three, I don't think the primitives even know franksolich exists; there might be more than three primitives aware that the DUmpster exists--maybe six or half a dozen.

Talk about laboring a mountain to bring forth a mouse.

I'm working on a project to attract more primitives here.

Well, see, the deal is, the DUmpster has three purposes.

The first is simply to provide diversion and amusement for the general public--and quite obviously the DUmpster is fulfilling that purpose, being the largest (by far) of all the forums here, bringing in traffic from all over, much of which subsequently checks into the other forums on conservativecave.

Lots and lots of people come to the DUmpster for entertainment.

The second is a form of "quality control," much as that used by manufacturers of goods, by the FDA, by the USDA, and so forth.  The quality of things are always being checked by outside third parties (or "quality control" departments), to be sure the products are what they claim to be.

The primitives allege themselves to be more intelligent than the run of humanity, more sensitive, more giving and generous, more thoughtful, more creative, more exciting and interesting, more unselfish and considerate, more unbiased and unracist, more rational, more tolerant, &c., &c., &c.

The primitives allege themselves to be all the above, and more.

And so the DUmpster takes a primitive, and "quality checks" it, to be sure it's what it says it is.

(It's not the DUmpster's fault that the primitives are always found lacking.)

That's a useful purpose, and I believe the DUmpster fulfills it.

However, there's a third purpose here, and I'm not so sure.

The DUmpster, to the primitives on Skins's island, is meant to be "the shining city on the hill," the new Zion, the beacon beckoning the primitives to a better place and a better life.

The DUmpster's full of all sorts of good stuff for primitives who want to better themselves.

With the exception of the gigantic primitive, who took our advice and lost another quarter-ton of weight (or however much it was), the DUmpster seems to have not affected the primitives at all.

Despite the illumination and enlightenment decent and civilized people here give the primitives, the primitives still pigheadedly persist in their rude conduct, their bigoted narrow-mindedness, their piss-poor attitudes, their whining, their bitching, their coarseness, their brutalities, their utter stupidity.

It's as if the DUmpster doesn't even exist.

So here's this third purpose, this "shining city on the hill," meant to inspire the primitives towards better things, and it seems the primitives aren't interested in being anything but wretched and miserable.

The primitives are exactly as they were before the DUmpster was created, if not worse.

It's like a guy with half a ton of gold that he wishes to freely give away, but the primitives don't want it.

I said no because I think most at DU prefer to live in fantasyland not realityland, and the few that are sane come over here to post.

I was thinking more like that "dark energy" stuff on the fringes of the universe.

I said yes, too. It's almost a physical law--when you observe something, you change its behavior.
Let nothing trouble you,
Let nothing frighten you.
All things are passing;
God never changes.
Patience attains all that it strives for.
He who has God lacks nothing:
God alone suffices.

Let's say for example that Leftists, or liberals make up some 20% of our society. Say 60 million worthless sponges off society. Now- the DUmp has what, 2,000 active members, of which probably 500 are paid trolls of the VRWC cyber section, leaving 1.5K true DUmpmonkiez.

So- less than .000005% of America are this stupid?

I didn't vote but that won't stop me from saying this....

Will we change any DUmmie minds....Hell no.

Will we get under their skin...Hell yeah.....like hives, shingles, rashes and poison ivy all rolled into one.

You know, sir, you are right.

Why that detail escaped me, I have no idea.

There's a faint glimmer of hope; perhaps we are changing the primitives into better people, a little tiny bit at a time.  But man, it's hard work.

I would say change DUmmies into canine chew toys, but there's just some things that shouldn't be done to a dog.

Id say the majority of the active members are stupid, but a small minority seem to be JFK democrats looking for common ground, while others are ignorant of their surroundings.. With that being said, these minority opinions are usually silenced - either they leave, or are forced out.

I voted yes. (Especially in election time, like the up-coming one.) :evillaugh:

I voted no. I agree with KGB defector, Yuri Bezmenov. They won't understand the truth even if you put the facts right in front of their faces. They won't understand until the military boot kicks them in their fat bottoms...then they will understand and it will be too late.

I think Evan Sayet explains the mindset perfectly in a speech at The Heritage Foundation. He uses "modern liberal" to label the mindset. I have found that there are people who call themselves all sorts of things, often saying "I am not a Liberal," but still fit this mindset which ultimately amounts to always choosing evil over good, good is evil and evil is the victim of good.
