best halloween costume
« on: October 23, 2010, 08:18:46 PM »
OK folks... how about talking about the best halloween costume you've seen?

Here's the best one I ever saw. It was about 3 or 4 years ago and I was over at my mom's house to give out candy. Mom walks out to her car parked on the street and comes back and tells me that there is an orange barrel behind her car. So good ole Perky goes out to find out what the city is doing and... no orange barrel. I go back up to the porch and an minor argument ensues about the existence of said orange barrel. While we are arguing I am keeping an eye on the gate for any spooks or princesses that might happen to show up for candy and lo and behold! There is an orange barrel sitting in the gate.

OK Perky thinks, the neighbors are messing with me. So I go out to the gate to move the orange barrel so the spooks and princesses can get in to get their loot. I reach down to pick it up and it moves back just enough for me to miss picking it up. Startled the daylights out of me. So I reach for it again and it sprouts arms and legs and moves out of my way.

Turns out it was a prop for a play and one of the neighbors made it into a costume for his kid. I gave the little tyke one of those big candy bars that I buy for great costumes.

Last year's best costume was this boy, about 12, come walking up and had half his face white, the other half black. Perky, being a star trek fan, thinks he is a star trek character that had half his face white (left side), the other half black (right side), while his nemesis was exactly the opposite. So Perky asks him which one he was.

The response was neither. He was Obama. That boy got one of the big candybars.

Mom talked to the guys father a few days later and he said his boy got all kinds of candy and compliments on that. Said the kid plopped down on one of the other streets and one of the pairs of cops on foot actually called it in to ask HQ why the street dept had left a barrel sitting on the side of the road where there was no maintenance going on and were wondering if someone had stole it and moved it. He said when it sprouted arms and legs the cop looked like he was gonna draw his pistol.

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

Hey now.... don't blame me!!! I didn't originally post the pic of the wicked witch of the white house. I wanted good stories of kids costumes or boobizes pics.

Damned if I didn't get either.

Sucks to be  Perky tonite.

Dixie, here ya go:
