Not looking for medical advice here, BUT my stupid stupid uncle

was trying to open my husband's very heavy hot grill door (cast iron), and he used our fire poker thingy. Well he popped himself in the head and nose. It isn't a bad cut at all, but the cut on the nose won't stop bleeding.

Any home remedies out there for stopping bleeding? He'd look like a fool if he went to the doc because really it looks like a scratch. It is just on some tender thin skin.

I thought of that. WE don't have any. Right now he's trying out vaseline. Not going to well. I am laughing because he is going to look like someone coldcocked him. And it was something so stupid. Could've been his eye though, so he got lucky in a way.

Those blue Scott shop towels are pretty good at soaking up blood.

He's an idiot. Ha! I think he's gotten it to slow down. Apparently he bleeds a lot. He said he sometimes bleeds like that when he nicks himself shaving.  :o Thin blood I guess.

Cuts like that will bleed like a stuck pig because the skin and tissue isn`t very elastic in the upper face area.
Pro wrestlers have used it for shock value for decades.

Pressure from a towel and wait it out as long as there are no other issues relating to thin blood or bleeding and then be prepared for a scar.

Yeah, I thought it might be in an area that was bleedy (not a word I know, but it fits). Thanks for the advice!

I went on my bachelorette party on Bourbon St. I came back with tons of beads. My husband (then fiance) was wondering. But some guys will give you beads for whatever. Some dude came up to me and gave me all of his beads. Like 100 or so. It looks like I had been showing the hell out of my boobiez all night. Oh, what a fun night that was.

There were 10 of us. 5 showed boobiez, 5 didn't. I was good that night.  :-)

The first time I was there between Christmas and New Year's, 2003. We stayed at the W down in the French Quarter...got lots of beads the two nights before New Year's Eve, but spent New Year's Eve at Harrah's. Couldn't handle another night of the crowds.

Duval Street in Key West is a great place for beads during Fantasy Fest and New Year's Eve. We were there for Fantasy Fest one year, with another couple....the other woman, who is about 7-8 years older than me, showed hers, and I was told I was too shy and modest to show mine (which is really kind of true). Ha....the look on their faces and M when I did was so worth it!!!  :shucks:
