Ian David (1000+ posts) Fri Oct-22-10 09:43 AMOriginal messageFired NPR analyst was disciplined for making ‘inappropriate’ sexual comments to female staffers Edited on Fri Oct-22-10 09:47 AM by Ian DavidSexually-themed comments about female Washington Post staff apparently went on for yearsJuan Williams, the NPR contributor who was fired Thursday after making anti-Muslim comments on Fox News, apologized for "wrong" and "inappropriate" comments about women staffers after a 1991 investigation by The Washington Post, Raw Story has found. The investigation of Williams' conduct stemmed from multiple occasions on which he made sexually-themed comments to female employees. An article published about the incidents was vague about what comments Williams actually made, though it makes clear that the sexually-oriented remarks came up on numerous occasions -- and that his behavior had allegedly gone on for several years. It's also apparent that the female staff of The Washington Post was so incensed about how the paper was dealing with it that they brought their concerns to management. <snip>One Post magazine editor went so far as to say that Juan Williams "was obsessed with my sex life and that's all he wanted to talk to me about . . . . I raised my voice at him and said, 'Just don't talk to me again.' "More:http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2010/10/fired-npr-analyst-di... /Refresh | +16 Recommendations

mediaman007 (1000+ posts) Fri Oct-22-10 09:53 AMResponse to Original message6. Isn't it ironic that the Right Wing powers have jumped to the defense of a supposed liberal. One would think that they would be ecstatic to get Williams off the air at NPR, just because a "liberal" voice would be off the air.I think that the NPR tag was invaluable to FOX when it tried to demonstrate how they include everyone. Sad to say that the only liberal on FOX is Michael Kinsley, who really has a hard time overcoming Hannity's bully boy approach.
Lasher (1000+ posts) Fri Oct-22-10 11:05 AMResponse to Reply #612. Kinsley doesn't try. I've seen him challenge Hannity only once. But to be fair, this might have occurred more often. I get 100% of my Faux programming second hand from sources like DU and Media Matters. Except for a little while one day Democrats won in 2006 and again in 2008. Watching their heads explode was sheer joy.

Here we go! Let the horse crap fly. The left love to deface anyone that stands against them. They have no facts to stand on, so they use the Saul Alinsky tactics.
Saul Alinsky was my bitch. Hell, I've forgotten more about marginalizing and invalidating people than the primitives ever f*cking learned.Bring it, you bitches, and your suffering will be legendary - even in hell.
"The nation that couldn’t be conquered by foreign enemies has been conquered by its elected officials" odawg Free Republic in reference to the GOP Elites who are no difference than the Democrats

I'm calling bullsh*t on this one.Besides the fact it came from RawStory of all places...after the Chamber of Commerce thing what little credibility these idiots might have had flew right out the window.
Just one more example of the left KNOWING they just stuck their dicks in the fan, but they're just too ****ing stupid to pull them out.
I agree. I've seen too many women in the last two days comment on what an incredibly nice guy Juan Williams is. If he was the type the article states, these women would not be standing up for him. The women on Fox are all college grads, many with master's DOCTORATES or law school degrees...they aren't the type to take up for a sleazy letch.
My God, liberals are pigs.
soon as you find your manhood all else falls into place.
If Ft. Hood was "workplace violence," then the Hindenburg was an air show.
I don't know if sand glows in the dark, but we're gonna find out.
