More than four hours after federal agents tried to arrest him at home, Toms River Superintendent Michael J. Ritacco is en route to the FBI’s office in Newark where he will surrender to face political corruption charges, according to his lawyer.

...
Ritacco's pending surrender comes three days after an insurance broker and a former school official told a federal judge they padded contracts by hundreds of thousands of dollars and used part of the money to pay bribes to a district executive. Authorities did not publicly name the executive, but two people with knowledge of the investigation identified him as Ritacco. ...

Lock him up. Throw away the key. Let's start setting some examples in America.  :-)

I hope he didn't steal enough to obtain a 'good' lawyer.

But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

If not, I'm sure the teacher's union will cover the difference.

I wonder how this plays into Gov. Cristie's war against the teachers' union?
According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."

Superintendents don't generally have the protection of the union.  They are management.

Superintendents serve at the will of the school board -- usually though with a nice 3-6 year contract, which provides them with benefits that rival CEO contracts.

Yep.  We had one in our district that got fired a year and a half into a five year contract.  The board voted to get rid of her and pay the remaining 5 years to the tune of $500,000.  The board refused to give anyone a reason.

The PA auditor called it 'troubling'.   :whatever:

Ya think.

OMG.    The entire school board should step down.

Absolute total incompetence by this school board from top to bottom.   Absolutely disgusted.

They were voted out in the next election but that didn't get us our 500 grand back.
