Sometimes I'm OK with U.S. troops getting shot
Sometimes I just don't mind when U.S. forces suffer losses. Just being honest here.

If we're not the "good guys" then why should I "support the troops" any more than I should support troops of the Taliban or North Korea?

Please watch this video:

Patriotism schmatriotism.

I'm shocked by the DUmp reaction.

9. Really?
Should I have sympathy for all humans? Because to some degree I do. But the worst - those who kill others for no good reason - I find I have less sympathy for. I guess it's just obvious to me that American forces are the aggressors in Iraq and therefore are not on the side of righteousness. Do they deserve a pass for their unlawful and immoral killing because they are Americans? I don't get it?

I should be ashamed of myself
for not supporting the troops? Maybe if our culture didn't glorify warriors and killers and preach that they should be "supported" at all costs then maybe our nation wouldn't be on such a suicidal aggression binge against the rest of the humans on Earth.

They do.  But they have learned to hid their hate.  Threads like this make them look bad and they know it.  The meme "we love the troops but hate their mission" has not worked and theyare trying to make people think the "love" the troops.

Fortunately, everyone sees through them.

Nuked eh? That stuff won't fly during an election year.

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

Yep -- we have it here.  They can watch us all they won't and there won't be much worth repeating.

They OTOH are a hotbed of hateful anti-American sentiment. And it will be captured and repeated.

No plausible deniability for you, $kammer!

I'll just never be able to wrap my mind around how they figure the insurgents to be the "good guys." The same people who purposely, purposely blow up women and children, execute unarmed people in the street, saw the heads off captives and are attempting to overthrow a democratically elected government.

Where are all the Chavez supporters whose mantra is, "leave him alone, he was elected by the people?" That doesn't apply to Iraq's government as well? Where's the defense of the democratic process for them? Why are you happy that theocratic thugs are attempting to subvert their fledgling democracy ? You actually believe that if we left, the religious militias would disband, everyone would lay down their arms and say, "okay, mission accomplished, the invaders are gone," and get in line to vote in the next election? How bad do you have to hate America to have that mindset?

Yep, so does my son, but he still has a few more months training. He says for every month he's here that's just one more Marine that can't go home and see HIS family. In spite of what the left is constantly trying to do to this country, America still produces some amazing young people.

That is the miracle of Army personnel management.  I tried to get sent to any combat zone that was going from 1975 through my entire active duty career and most of my reserve career.  It never got me anywhere until I stopped asking.  I think it has something to do with Catch 22.

And as I've said before...I'm doing everything I can to get back there.

To a combat zone that is.

And for the record...I wouldn't care what kind of sh*bag a soldier might be...I'd never be "ok" with them being shot.
