OSCAR WILDE, THE LARGE-PROBOSCISED PRIMITIVE
Original message

America 7.0

Our country has reinvented itself many times. There have been ages of robber barons, there have been ages when the middle class came into its own, and now we are in an age that almost makes the robber baron-era look benign.

What most people don’t understand is that the powerful, the greedy, the “masters of the universe” want one thing and one thing only. More. They will never get enough. They are a nightmare out of the “Terminator” movies. You can’t reason with them, they have no mercy and no empathy, they have no consciences, and they don’t give a damn who lives and who dies, as long as they can attain they’re goal of owning it all.

They own banks, they own Wall Street, they own our political class, and, like it or not, they own us.

Unfortunately, far too few understand that these people are our deadly enemies. We are nothing to them but sheep to be lead to the slaughter.

So let me get to the bottom line. Will most people ever “get it?” Will we create a resistance movement? Do we stand a chance against them?

This scenario has been played out time and time again since humans started organizing civilizations. Maybe this time things will turn out differently. Although, given the number of Tea Party lunatics in this country today, who knows?

What do you think?

1. I think we will be forced to reinvent ourselves due to oil depletion and climate change.

The above's the whole campfire thus far, but Oscar Wilde just lit it.

Our country has reinvented itself many times. There have been ages of robber barons, there have been ages when the middle class came into its own, and now we are in an age that almost makes the robber baron-era look benign. It is called the parasite era.

What most productive people understand is that the greedy parasites, the “posters at DU” want one thing and one thing only. More. They will never get enough. They are a nightmare out of the “Terminator” movies. Productive people can’t reason with us, we have no mercy and no empathy, we have no consciences, and we don’t give a damn who lives and who dies, as long as we can attain our goal of living off other people's money.

We get HUD, welfare, food stamps and medicaid, we own SUV's and cell phones, we own the democrats and, like it or not, we now own a substantial amount of the productive people's money that we confiscate thru taxes.

Unfortunately, far too few understand that people that post at DU are their deadly enemies. Productive people are nothing to us but sheep to be shorn of their assets so we can live without being productive.

So let me get to the bottom line. Will most people ever “get it?” Will productive people create a resistance movement? Do the productive people stand a chance against us?

This scenario has been played out time and time again since humans started organizing civilizations. This time things will turn out the same way it always has when the moochers outnumber the productive. Although, given the number of pissed off productive people in this country today, who knows?

Reinvent ourselves?  What the hell for?  Humans will do what they have always done: adapt, accept, and advance.  The only "reinventing" needed is for DUmmies to "invent" a way to get off their asses and become productive members of society.

As for "oil depletion", considering the number of pharmaceuticals that are made from oil, DUmmies are in a world of hurt!

"Climate change" is a farce, no worries there.  If it is getting warmer, humans will thrive, due to longer growing seasons, and less need for fossil fuels.  More humans die due to "cold" than to "hot".

Murphy's 3rd Law:  "You can't make anything 'idiot DUmmie proof'.  The world will just create a better idiot DUmmie."

Liberals are like Slinkys.  Basically useless, but they do bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs...

Global warming supporters believe that a few hundred million tons of CO2 has more control over our climate than a million mile in diameter, unshielded thermo-nuclear fusion reactor at the middle of the solar system.

Good fix.........and Rome falls.
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

"America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within."  Stalin
