I heard a guy in the supermarket say he wants to shoot bankers, politicians, and corporatists.

He was wearing an $800.00 suit and drove off in a late model Benz. In the store he was telling an older women in line ahead of him how outraged he is. This woman of about fifty with perhaps a young grandchild in tow had to put some items back cuz she didn't have the money to cover it all. This man gave her the difference in money she needed to keep the box of cheerios and the eggs and then he left the twelve pack of beer behind that he was going to purchase for himself apparently because he didn't have enough for all of it. He said he is ready to "take 'em down by any means necessary". He was going on about it being the democrats AND republicans fault and he said that the tea party was a creation of the powers that be to continue to divide and conquer. I couldn't agree more

It REALLY happened! I was there!

Jesus God. Does ALL human interaction occur in grocery stores, or what?

Of course, DT is there to take them down:

A man wearing an 800.00 suit does not depend on cash for purchases...hell even me in a work provided uniform uses a debit card.

These things are just pathetic now and wonder if they are simply testing the stupidity level of the DUmp.

I never use anything but cash at the grocery store.  I stop at the ATM right next door, grab a fist full of yuppie food stamps, get my stuff and feed them back into the grocery store machine.

Why? No clue other than the bank lobby has an ATM (faster than a teller) which is just before the grocery and the self check out is faster with cash. I get what cash I need for the groceries and my walking around money.  But I use a credit card to buy gas.....Go figure.

The cash part didn't raise any flags for me, I don't know anyone who used plastic for groceries.  Checks, maybe, but not cards (except the welfare ones).

I do, however, doubt the OP can tell the quality of suits and $800 must seem like a fortune.  I think the tone was exaggerated to support the OPs own POV.

BTW, I have thrown in a buck or two when behind someone who mis-estimated the amount they were picking up, and once had someone do it for me.

I'm broke dick poor 99% of the time and I only carry cash for vending machines and the under $5 purchases. Everything else gets hit on the Debit Card. I despise check writers. IMHO checks should go the way of the dinosaur.

I have never had a debit card, suppose I should look into that one of these days.

No wonder the wife takes so long at the grocery store..... think I'll start going with her.

What a nice guy!!!

Okay, we're going to the grocery store once our daughter wakes up.  I will wear my most expensive outfit and pull up in my "late model" Jaguar and see if I can summon up a funny bouncy scenario.

Actually, the gigantic primitive did get down to 400 pounds, but then he quit posting.

If he were still losing weight, he'd be posting, so as to boast.

I suspect the gigantic primitive found out that since he lost all that weight, he's expected to find a job and get off the social security gravy-train.

And so undoubtedly he's scarfing down bushels of Big Macs and Ho-Hos.

Checks had been pretty much dead for the last 10 years here for regular purchases like groceries, and most household purchases (white goods , brown goods etc) it's all done with EFTPOS. Most utility bills can be paid online or at any post office with a DC/CC. Even the local pizza shop has a mobile EFTPOS unit.

I can't pay any of my leases online.  The sale barn I use can't pay me online when I sell cattle, nor can I pay them with a debit card if I buy (and I sure won't carry that kind of cash).  I cannot pay my electricity online or locally.

Just sayin'.  :uhsure:

He was wearing an $800.00 suit and drove off in a late model Benz. Unlike me, he was NOT wearing a poncho made from a 32 gallon black plastic Glad garbage bag, a diaper made from an overused hemp grocery bag, and slippers made from evil cabbage leaves, then drove off in gold plated Prius. In the store he was telling an older women in line ahead of him how hard it is to find quality rolling papers these days.

This woman of about fifty with perhaps a young grandchild in tow had to put two of the three bongs she selected back cuz she didn't have the money to cover it all. This man gave her the difference in money she needed to keep the bongs and rolling papers and then he left with the twelve bongs he purchased for his pre-teen children.

We All walked outside and he began to strum a 30 year old off-tune guitar and I banged my tambourine as we danced around the community may pole.

I pay everything online. Mortgage, Insurance's, Electricity, Cable, Internet, Credit Cards, Medical. My checks are direct deposited. Mommas check isn't though so there's one trip that has to be made. The bank has a branch at WalMart though so it's easy and convenient.  :-)

There's pretty much not alot of reasons to carry cash anymore. But with the cash back options at most places you debit at it's simple enough to pick up an extra $20 when you don't have any.
