Which of these reactions by the victim would gain your respect:
A. He hauls off and busts his tormentors in the mouth and win or lose he's standing up for himself
B. He reports his tormentors to some authority, i.e. boss, school administrators
C. He protests for anti-hate legislation
D. He sues his tormentors for mental anguish
E. He actively evades contact with his tormentors
F. He commits suicide
G. He's gay, he'll never earn my respect
Now you have done it Mr. Bunny, you have asked for the $64,000 question on how we would have respect for a gay by the choices they made to react to bullying about their sex preference.
I do not like A---for the reason it may invite a gang bang from the friends of the Bully.
B is also a hard choice if none he speaks to gives a darn.
C is reasonable to a point.
D is hard to prove
E makes the top of the chart, avoid local gay bars, don't throw your sexuality into others faces and as we tell females, don't go anywhere alone at night.
F is insane solution to a temporary problem.
G This thinking will set YOU up for a fall, They say 1 out of 10 people are gay or bisexual, with all the people you meet, and respect, I bet there are are a few that are gay that you do not know about and somewhere in every family there is at least one gay.
The Don't Ask, Don't Tell, has a darn good reason behind it.
I myself have no desire to question the sexuality of any family member or friend--Frankly, I have no interest in their sex lives and I would not welcome questions about mine.
