DH and I went out to dinner the other night and the couple at the table next to us was having an interesting conversation. He was a Republican and she asked him who he was going to support in the election this year. He said he was very disappointed in his party and said the current leaders were not truly representing Republican ideals. He thought the war had gone on too long and the economy was a mess. And he complained that no Republicans were emerging with plans to address any critical issues facing our country. He said 4 years ago they were too concerned about gay marriage and that was a "non-issue". He said he was surprised Bush got re-elected and has learned that we can't really trust the results of that election.

So then the lady with him asked "Well what are you going to do then?" And he said it is very clear to him that in this coming election "I am thinking like a Republican but voting like a Democrat".

How do they always manage to get seated next to Republicans having a political conversation when they go to restaurants? :lmao:

Seems to me we have a lot of Moonbats running around calling themselves Republicans. You will notice that they don't call themselves Conservatives.

The problem we have right now is no elected Conservative leadership like we had with Reagan. What we have instead is a group of mamby pamby wannabe's that will vote with the Dem's at the drop of a hat. Reagan promoted the Conservative ideaology and held the party together. McCain is certainly no Conservative, he will kiss a Dem ass faster than a rabbit gets screwed.

Someone unhappy with the spending and regulation policies of the republicans will, of course, go even farther to the left this year.

Republican thinks 2004 election was stolen = 2 bongs
Republican voting Democrat = 1 bong

Somewhat shoddy, but I liked the Republican not trusting the 2004 election. Haven't heard that one before, hence the extra bong for creativity. Also, when it comes to bouncies, third person narratives are boring. The writer was too lazy to interject themselves into the plot except as a passive onlooker. See me after class proud2Blib, for some extra credit work to make up for today's halfhearted effort.

I was with a friend in a restaurant the other day, and the guy in the next booth had on an Obama hat. You know what I did????






I talked to my friend, enjoyed my salad, and DID NOT eavesdrop on anyone else's conversation.

Of course, I was raised to believe that eavesdropping is rude. (As is wearing a hat in a restaurant . . .)

The best we can hope for now is that McCain wins but that the Congress is filled with more Conservative Senators and Congressmen and Women that won't let ol Maverick do whatever the HELL he wants. We may not have time this year but in 2010 and in 2012 when the next President gets in we can shift the balance back to where it should be. Operation:Chaos must continue.
